Horrible high-pitched noise, engineering flaw

I want to love this fridge, but there is a horrible high-pitched pulsating noise coming from the motor that I can hear all the way across our home. We've had several of repair people out to look at it over several months (still under warranty), some try to tell us the noise is normal, others concur it is faulty. GE finally replaced the fridge for us, the new one has the same exact noise in the old one, so I have to conclude this is a major engineering flaw. Have seen other reviews complaining of the same noise, so I know they must be aware of it as an issue. It's actually affecting my sanity when I'm in my home. So we will probably have to suck it up and fork out for a different fridge. It will definitely not be a GE.

Modern refrigerators do have new efficiency compressors that may run faster and longer than your old refrigerator and you may hear a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound while it is operating.

Ice Maker is Unacceptable

Ice maker stopped working 2 weeks after getting water hook up. Replaced filter with very expensive one and got ERR code and still not ice. Wanted to buy American but run from this refer.

It makes too much noise after the door has been open, even for a short time as it works to keep temperature cold

Failed within first 4 months

Up until it failed, I had no complaints. Then the compressor failed 4 months in. This was in a vacation home and by the time we realized it, it stunk so bad, nothing could get the stink out and I have to replace it at my own expense. very disappointed in GE.

We have had our refrigerator for almost a month and so far we love it. It looks beautiful and works great. The lights are nice and bright, the door alarm is a great feature. Our only issue is that the handles come off pretty easily if you pull it the wrong way at all. Over all I think this is a great fridge.

Compressor Died within 2 Months.

I bought this item to replace the exact same one I had for years. Much to my surprise, only 7 weeks after delivery, the compressor completely died, leaving me to throw out everything inside.
