Parts break easily. I haven't had this refrigerator that long but so far the freezer handle broke off and the condiment shelf broke. We are only a family of three but the freezer can't hold what we need. The top freezer draw is always getting stuck on food underneath. I don't like this set up. Very small. Much smaller than my last refrig.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fits our farmhouse

We are remodeling an old farmhouse and space is limited. Our GE refrigerator not only looks great but fits perfectly. I’d give a 5 star rating but I wish it had more freezer space, and for some reason our refrigerator door needs an extra good push to get it to close.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hi Dunkin100 - Thanks for choosing GE Appliances! Our refrigerators continue to be manufactured with as quiet an operation as possible. When the surrounding noise is low, you may hear a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound while it is operating which is normal and comes from the high efficiency compressor.
Please take a look at page 38 in your manual for normal operating sounds: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60805-3.PDF
We hope this is useful information. - Sharon@GEA

Missing the bells and whistles

We like the fridge overall as it holds a lot for only a 30” compared to our previous one. However I’m disappointed that GE does not provide internal water dispenser for 30” and also has no butter tray on the door which we have been used to for many years. I also find the motor is a bit loud for a brand new fridge.

Nice refrigerator but the energy star compressor is very noisy and annoying. Plus the door never shuts unless you push it closed.

Hi Tubeneck - Thanks for choosing to do business with us! We're so glad to hear you are happy with the appearance of your new refrigerator. The new high efficiency compressor may run faster and longer than your previous older model and you may hear a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound while it is operating which is normal. The door does not close on it's own and will need to be pushed closed on a bottom freezer model.
Depending on the placement of the refrigerator in your kitchen, you may want to place a piece of rubber backed carpet beneath the refrigerator to help reduce the sounds. We hope this helps. Best wishes! - Sharon@GEA

This refrigerator is making a noise that sounds like it is sending Morse Code. I plan to have it looked at. Also the freezer clunks when you close it. I do like the storage room it provides
