It works, but you could do better.

Our Whirlpool broke after only 5 years. Our repairman said that GE is more durable, so we bought one. In terms of features and price, it is very similar to the Whirlpool we bought five years ago. However, it just isn't as good a build. Everything feels cheap and rickety. When you close the freezer door, it has trouble rolling in the shelves. The freezer shelves in particular feel flimsy...they don't move well, and feel like they are going to break any minute. The ice-maker works quickly, but the cubes come out all stuck together. The shelves are not nearly as configurable as the Whirlpool, and again, they just feel more rickety. The only thing I like better than the whirlpool; the door has tons of space, with deep, yet accessible shelving.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works Well - A Little Noisy

Pleased with the layout and it does the job as far as keeping things cold. It is slightly noisy, with a frequent high-pitched whine. Better than our older fridge, though.

seems to run quite a lot even at factory suggested settings . when running is louder that my dishwasher . freezer slide door is also loud and not smooth.

Fridge in general is good. But whilst it’s running it makes a terrible high-pitched noise that pulses. Was told by a GE repairman that it’s inevitable and unfixable.

Fan makes a high pitch intermittent humming that drives me insane. Called a guy to come check it out and he said he'd call me back after he called the manufacturer. Haven't heard back from him since! Awesome.
