Bought about a month ago and very happy with GE refrigerator...always been familiar with GE as a great brand and decided to go with them after not so good experience with other brands of refrigerators.....thanks GE

Great Refrigerator

I had a 30" limited space and I wanted the refrigerator to be on top over the freezer, GE had the model I wanted and then I found it came in slate, looks great and no fingerprints. I am very happy with my decision.

Perfect for us

We have only had it for a week yet so far love it. We wanted simple lines and with an older home and smaller kitchen this one looked perfect w/just the ice maker. I love opening the door on top and seeing everything plus unlike many it doesn't have all these doors and things inside so can arrange things the way we want. It is quiet, attractive, love the slate finish and ice maker and freezer in lower drawer is also handy. Most of the refrigerators we found in the width we wanted were not made as well as this one so thank you for making one to fit the life style of happily living on an older home where the kitchen isn't all modern because yes we love our old double drain board sink. I looked at so many options and at the moment am glad I made the choice of this one.

IT looks nice but has drawbacks

Owned for 6 months. Looks nice. Love the bottom freezer. But this model has a very annoying and LOUD metal clicking sound apparently when the compressor is turning on and off. Surely this could be engineered out of the appliance. Our dining area is very close to kitchen and the loud clicking, metal rasping like sound is annoying almost alarming, like something is wrong in there! I recommend with reservations. I wanted the color instead of the industrial looking stainless steel. Also this finish doesn't show hand prints.

Plastic freezer baskets...

I bought this fridge about a week ago for my new house, I picked this one in paticular for its size and the bottom freezer which I really wanted over the above freezer. I am not as thrilled as I thought with the freezer baskets as they are plastic and I'm worried about them breaking, also they dont seem to hold as much as it looks. I LOVE the slate although the handle shows every finger smudge in contrast.
