Fan is Loud
on April 4, 2024
Posted by: Xterm
The delivery crew put a dent by the refrigerator handle. The fan in the freezer needs to be replaced. The noise is so loud and disruptive. The repair man said the fans are a known problem on these refrigerators. Very disappointing to get a brand new refrigerator and have to contend with the loud noise for three weeks. The fan finally arrived so we are getting it replaced tomorrow.
Like many others have indicated, it is quite noisy. It makes a high pitched sound when it runs.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We want to help go over the sound you are noticing on your refrigerator. It can be normal to notice the sounds of a new refrigerator more than your previous model, just due to the sounds being new. You can check the following link, which refers to one of our support articles that goes over all the normal sounds. (https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=15901). If you suspect the sounds aren't normal, we suggest scheduling service. You can do so by calling 1-800-432-2737 or by visiting this link here (https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm).
I love my new G.E. refrigerator, but since my living room and kitchen are shared as one big room I can hear it running but most of the time I have my TV on so its not a big problem, based on that I give my new refrigerator 4 and a half stars
This is a great refrigerator. I think the ice tray in the freezer is too big though. I don't use that much ice and would prefer more space to store frozen food.
It is noisier than I would like. I wish I would have read more reviews.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
