I got mine a month ago and the first two weeks were great but the experience lowered for me after a while. There are display issues right off the bat. after the second week my laptop would randomly restart. then there was an issue of websites freezing or glitching across the screen. Today I was doing some grading and now there's a random green line on my screen. I have to send it in to get repaired and I'm not sure how I'm going to do my job without it. Also there's a glare to the screen, it's not too bad but since I live in a place with huge windows, sometimes I can't see the screen too well during the day. My audio also has been glitching randomly sometimes, also like the laptop is doing too much at once but it's not like I have much open besides word documents. I'd give it a much higher rating if it didnt start to crumble so soon.
We just received our pc after a one month lead time, which was expected due to Covid-19 however what wasn’t expected is that a week after we received the pc it started making a very loud humming noise coming from what I will assume is the hard drive. We put in a call to tech support and have heard nothing back yet. Maybe I will change my rating depending on how this turns out. So far, not impressed.
The machine is built really well. It is super sturdy. Love the HP pen and the adaptiveness it gives me for note taking. Love the I can write straight onto a pdf.
The 2-in-1 functionality with a Ryzen 4700U, and an NVME SSD makes a versatile machine that can perform many tasks moderately well. Speedy web browsing and processing, fast file transfers, ability to take notes with the included pen, and the ability to do some light gaming make this a great all purpose companion. Unfortunately the device does not charge via USB-C. It is marketed with "USB-C Sleep and charge" which sounds like the device can charge via USB-C, but instead It charges other devices through USB-C while sleeping. Quite the let down, and I do not think the device should be marketed this way.
The unit I received had a defective fingerprint scanner, but HP customer support was quick to help with the issue, and has arranged for overnight shipping to get the device fixed up.
Overall, this machine is sold at a great price for the performance you get, and I look forward to using it for a variety of tasks even though I cannot charge it via USB.
Only owned for a month. Replacement of laptop from another company that lasted only 13 months. So far I like everything about this laptop. I'll update in a year or so if necessary.
I bought the Hp envy a few weeks ago and it is very nice and has a premium feeling. The battery life though dissapoints me and even loses battery fast not in use but still on. Also, it has been extremely buggy for me requiring multiple restarts a day. Randomly it becomes unresponsive and the apps don't open close or do anything. Also, there was this glitch where the speakers just disconnected from the computer and a mind of its own and plaid this irritating buzzing sound. It was definitely a software problem where the volume slider or sound settings would not open so a full restart had to be done where it then happened a gain a second time but never again. If the computer wasn't so buggy after paying over a grand for it I would have loved this computer and its versatility. This is inexcusable and there are no viruses on it since I didn't install any shady software or anything. The battery life is not anywhere close to advertised maybe while idle with the brightness all the way down not running any programs. Main issue is still bugs which interrupts my work and online classes almost everyday.
After waiting too long to receive my new laptop, it was defective when it arrived. The screen flickered so much it was useless, and the help/tech department was helpless.
