Obviously a Lower Quality Model
on October 15, 2023

This model was installed in our new construction home. As a family of 5, our dishwasher is used daily. This model is lower quality than others I have had, with a flimsy front panel, and cheap push buttons that are already cracking. I have already needed to get a repair scheduled because the start button does not work when closing the unit. I would spring for a higher end model with more solid parts, we would’ve if we knew this would be the model that was installed. I cannot see this dishwasher lasting us more than a couple of years.

Buy a different brand.

I'm maintenance technician, working on many brands of appliances. GE is easily the least reliable I've seen. This dishwarsher lasted less than 2 years, before it failed catastrophically; and it's far from the first GE appliance I've encountered that's failed long before one should reasonably expect. Don't waste your money on GE junk, buy a different brand

BOTTOM Rack is the problem. Prongs are too wide, not a lot of small stuff will fit.

The items that can be placed in the bottom rack include: Plates, saucers and cookware, large items (should go along the sides), large platters, pots and bowls (on the sides, in the corners or in the back).

Dishes still wet and mold in interior
on October 18, 2023

This dishwasher is about 1 and 1/2 years old and there are two problems I never saw coming. The plastic interior keeps the dishes from drying completely even with the boost on. Today I just realized there was mold on the inside of the door and the bottom of the dishwasher. I'm assuming by not opening the door each time to let out steam there is mold building up. No idea how long that has been there! I needed a white dishwasher so didn't have a choice of product. Will never buy another plastic interior.

Good morning,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on your GE Appliances built-in dishwasher. We are sorry to hear that your dishes are not dry once the cycle is complete, and mold is forming inside the door at the bottom of the dishwasher. We're happy to provide some guidance.
A dishwasher cleaner will break up mineral deposits and remove hard water film and stains. You can purchase Finish Dishwasher Cleaner at your local grocery store or order online at the link below:
We recommend leaving a cup of vinegar in your dishwasher overnight to help absorb moisture by running an empty normal cycle with nothing but white vinegar. You can also mix 2 cups of hot water with 1/2 cup distilled white vinegar in a bowl or empty spray bottle, and apply to the moldy areas as well as all the seals and crevices where mold could form.
If the dishwasher is not drying properly, we recommend reviewing the troubleshooting tips mentioned in the article at the link below:
Thank you for your review. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. -Devin@GEAppliances
