This dishwasher cleans my dishes without me having to rinse or scrape clean beforehand. It does not dry them unless the dry boost, temperature boost, and a rinse aid is used. The door automatically closes which is unfortunate because I need to crack it to allow dishes to finish drying. The construction of the racks is pretty rickety, and they do not slide smoothly in and out of the dishwasher, often going off track. My previous dishwasher (7 years old that cost half the price of this new one) that this washer is replacing did a better job with much fewer features, and was more soundly constructed. If I had previewed this model in person instead of just purchasing online based on the description I would not have spent this amount of money on it. I would have paid the same amount I paid for the old washer for the plumber to fix the leak in it. Like I mentioned earlier, it does wash the dishes clean, but everything else is disappointing. But not disappointing enough to go through the hassle of returning and looking for a new one. My delivery for this one was rescheduled 5 times despite it sitting in a warehouse less than 4 hours away for most of the time. I am very tired.

Squeaky clean dishes

I am very happy with my new dishwasher. My dishes have come out squeaky clean and the cycle is nice and quiet. There are a lot of nice features that show thought in the design. While I haven’t had a chance to use every cycle available as of yet, the cycles that I have used have all resulted in clean, dry dishes.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Do NOT buy

We built a house and this dishwasher came with it. It is the WORST dishwasher I have ever used. I think a dishwasher from 1975 would work better than this dishwasher at this point. The water never gets hot. I have not once seen any steam come from the dishwasher. I have opened the dishwasher during cycles to test the water and it's never hot. Lukewarm at best. I even run the hot water before starting the dishwasher so it has hot water right away and it does not help. I did check that it is connected to the hot water line, so that's not the problem. Dishes come out very dirty. I have had to clean the inside 4-5 times due to a mold like substance growing in the seals. Dishes come out with a white residue at times and feel greasy, and this is after I pre-rinse all of them. If I do not pre-rinse there are visible food pieces on dishes. This dishwasher is 6 months old and as soon as I'm able to I am removing it and replacing it with a different brand. I will never buy this brand of dishwasher.

Hey there, and thanks for letting us know about your experience. We hate to hear you’re dissatisfied with the dishwasher, and have had issues with water temperature, wash performance, a possible mold concern and dishes coming out with a white residue. This certainly isn’t the performance we would expect from our model, and we sincerely regret the inconvenience you’ve had. Notice of your experience will be sent to our team for review.

Regarding the water temperature, if you’ve already made sure the unit is connected to the hot water supply, you may want to check the water temperature going to the dishwasher using a meat or candy thermometer on the nearest faucet. We recommend a water temperature of at least 120 degrees F for the dishwasher. If the water isn’t hot enough, your water heater might need to be adjusted. Making sure the water temperature is the correct temperature may help with the wash performance as well, but making sure the filter isn’t clogged might also help. If you’d like to view additional troubleshooting details, those are available on page 19 of the manual, linked here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-4000218-2.pdf&_ .

For the possible mold you’ve noticed, you may want to clean the dishwasher according to the care and cleaning instructions in the manual, starting on page 17. Using baking soda and/or vinegar may also help. Regarding the white film you’ve noticed, this may be caused by a low quality phosphate-free dishwasher detergent. Running the dishes through a cycle with citric acid might help remove the residue. More details on this process are available in the manual on page 22.

We hope this helps, but if you continue to have trouble with the dishwasher our service department is available at 1-800-432-2737 or online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm . Going forward, we’ll do all we can to earn back your trust in our brand. If you have any other concerns or questions, we’re always glad to offer assistance. -Sarah@GEA

Hello- We are sorry to hear you are having an issue with your dishwasher drying and want to help! Water temperature is key when cleaning and drying the dishes. Please be sure your water heater is set to 140 degrees and if it takes a while for the water to get hot at your sink, turn your hot water on before turning your dishwasher on. Please review the following troubleshooting tips.

Upper spray arm not well secured to the upper rack
on October 8, 2022
Posted by: Experienced housekeeper
from New Mexico
The upper spray arm is fastened to the bottom of the upper dish rack with two small plastic slide-on clips. When pushing the upper rack into the machine, if the water inlet pipe on the upper spray arm does not insert correctly into the water opening in the back wall, the upper spray arm is pushed off the attachment clips and falls onto the lower rack.
