Excellent device for peace of mind!

3 years ago we used the Smart Sock version 1 for my son. It was a game changer as far as letting us actually fall asleep and get some rest. With my daughter on the way I looked into Owlet again and saw the Smart Sock 3. With how important the sock was for our son, we knew we wanted the most up to date model. The wireless charing and insane battery life of the 3rd version are so helpful. I've also found the readings to be more consistent than the version 1. I recommemd this to all parents. It gives us peace of mind and a look into our baby girl's sleep patterns.

Peace of Mind

I bought the sleep sock two weeks ago for peace of mind while my little one sleeps since he is rolling over in his sleep now. It works pretty great. Occasionally it will disconnect for the base, however a customer service rep suggested putting a fabric sock over the sleep sock and that has worked great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not as great as expected

We received this as a gift and just set it up in our 6 month old’s room. The video picture quality is excellent, but the motion detection barely works. Part of the reason we set this up is because our baby likes to wake up and roll around in bed before she makes a sound, so sometimes we aren’t aware she’s awake until 10-20 min after she actually wakes up. I was hoping this would alert me when she started moving and it doesn’t. The only time the motion alert goes off is when the room light turns on.
Also, the wire covers fell off a few hours after they were put up and ended up in her crib. Luckily, she wasn’t in there and it happened during the day, but that’s not ok.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Would Be The Best, If Only...

We had the 2nd generation of this product, and mostly liked it. However, I HATED that you cannot adjust the parameters for oxygen and heart rate. The alarms were set too low for my daughter’s needs. I understand this is not to be used as a medical device, so if they want to stick with it’s use is to let you know after the baby has dropped to critical levels, then I guess it’s great for that. But I wanted to be alerted before my baby got that low. And she did have medical problems, so she did frequently get that low. For that reason alone, when others ask for my advice when they have a new baby, I tell them I liked the Owlet, but there are others out there that are cheaper and you can set the alarm parameters on them. If Owlet would change this one simple thing, then I feel they would be the best on the market and worth the high price!!!

Complete life saver!

At first me and my husband were not on board with getting the Owlet for our daughter. Saying we lived without one and came out just fine. Well after spending our first initial night home, we quickly realized how much panicking and worrying can happen once it comes time to sleep. We were fine in the hospital sleeping but it’s like once you are home and in your own environment it’s hard to relax without constantly worrying if she is okay. The second night we got our owlet and we slept like a dream (besides waking every 3 hours for her needs). We felt so at ease knowing she was breathing well and her heart rate was in good range. Overall I would buy this product one million times over.

Peace of Mind

While pregnant with our first baby, we decided to only splurge on safety items; the Owlet monitor was the first one we bought. Being able to track, not only his breathing and heart rate, but also his sleep, has given us so much peace of mind. It’s also given us the data to learn his sleep habits, which has provided us better sleep in turn. Obviously, nothing replaces attentive parents, but the Owlet is the nighttime support system we could not live without. It’s easy to use, quick to charge, lasts 16 hours between charges, and let’s you breathe a little easier. We recommend this to all new parents!

The best for piece of mind

My wife and I bought the smart sock after a friend referred it to us, and we have been so happy with it since we did, it gives us a piece of mind that we didn't know we needed or could have. It's let us sleep better knowing it's monitoring our baby's oxygen and heart beat and it's been great so far, especially that first week of life as a new parent. I can see it being even more useful once out little one hits the 3 months and starts to roll over, it'll be easier to make sure she hasn't accidentally rolled to far and covered her face with anything.

We’ve been using this for almost a month now & it really helps provides peace of mind for my wife. She sleeps better knowing that the sock is on & if a change is detected it will alert us. Our newborn doesn’t seem to mind wearing the sock & it stays on overnight. This is a must have for us.
