It's worth protecting your child's life (true story below)

Very easy to read all the reviews like I did and contemplate whether to buy the Owlet. It is a little expensive yeah, but so is a good monitor or camera. My wife and I decided to buy this regardless of price or some of the low reviews. In six months we had a couple alarms for being too far away from the base or sock falling off, which didn't happen much if you put a sock on over the owlet to keep it tight. But after having used the monitor for almost 7 months at 5:30 am we received a "Red" alert, which is low/high pulse or O2 Saturation low below 80. The alert was loud on the base station, which you cannot sleep through then came over both our phones. I thought my son being 5' from us everything would be ok and we would hear him if anything happened, but that's not the case. My son was face down with his nose and mouth squished into the mattress basically suffocating. I picked him up and he started gasping for air. My son is doing good and is ok. I don't know how this story would have ended if he wasn't wearing his Owlet monitor to alert us and we slept for another 10-15 minutes. My career as a Fireman/EMT I use a pulse ox all the time...I never would have thought something would be this dependable and most likely save my son's life. It gives you the most unbelievable piece of mind that your child is being watched and protected at all times while they sleep. If this is the one and only time my son really needed this monitor, then I don't care the cost or anyone's review I would have paid any price. Hope this is helpful. And thank you Owlet.
Pros: Could and WILL save your child's life, Very easy to use app, Very soft and easy to use.
Cons: Wish there were a left and right sock for size 3

My baby had RSV and since he was only a month it became pneumonia (beginning of it). He looked pretty healthy just a cold I thought and owlet alerted me his oxygen levels were extremely low.. this is my second baby and had never had a red alert before so I know it worked. We decided to take him to the emergency room .. turned out he was really sick. No other signs were visible so owlet was my only help and saved my baby.

Loved that I was able to sleep peacefully. Until it no longer connecting to the WiFi to the base. I don’t know what changed. My daughter will turn 2 in March. I wish I could have used it longer. Probably would not invest in the future.

My son is four months old and we have been using the owlet sock since the night we brought him home. It has been slower to react than I imagined, but one time in particular was really bad. I had taken the sock off of my son and was getting him ready for the day. It had been off of him 5+ minutes, (he had been changed and dressed for the day) when I realized it still had not alerted me that it wasn’t on his foot anymore. I then decided to check my app to see what it would say and it said his heart was beating normal and his oxygen was 100%. The app read “Kade’s readings are normal”. This instance in particular has caused me to have very little trust in the owlet.

When we were gifted the owlet smart sock, I was at first skeptical, but after spending 68 days in the NICU with our son, it was the peace of mind I needed. Every single night after bringing him home, he wore his owlet. Occasionally, we’d get a false alarm, due to positioning of the sick.
About 6 weeks after discharge, we put on his owlet and within 5 minutes it was alarming us that his oxygen saturation was low. We tried readjusting the sock, but it again alerted us of low saturation’s. We ended up taking him to the ER, where we found out he was going into heart failure. Ultimately we had to be flown to the nearest children’s hospital, but every doctor along the way told us how lucky we were to have had the owlet. The owlet sock really saved his life.

I’m writing this from the Cardiac Stepdown Unit in our Children’s Hospital, where my one month old is being treated.
I bought this after my son was in the NICU for some peace of mind. About a month later, we started getting red alerts for high heart rates. At first, we thought that it might be false alarms, but it we were only getting alerted for high heart rates and nothing else. That made me believe something else was going on. After about a week of this, I had enough and told his pediatrician about it. She immediately sent us to cardiology. Long story short, my son was diagnosed with SVT and the Owlet lined up with the holter monitor he had to wear for 48 hours.
If it wasn’t for the Owlet, we never would have known about this. We wouldn’t have known that my 1 month old was in SVT for long periods and needed to be admitted to the hospital for treatment. His cardiologist and all of his nurses have spoken so highly of the Owlet and said that this device is making their jobs a little easier and catching things, like heart conditions, that may not would have been caught until something bad happened.
We’re forever grateful for our Owlet and HIGHLY recommend it!

Great idea, poor product

We bought this product with high hopes, tried it for several weeks, and were finally forced to give up on it. We were awake so much during the night responding to false alarms, hearts racing thinking our baby was dying, just to find out that he was still breathing and things were fine. The alarms were all due to loss of connectivity. The first night we had a couple of alarms reading low oxygen, but we found out how to better put the sock on and ended the false low-oxygen readings. However, were were up 5-10 times per night cancelling connectivity alarms. Talk about causing anxiety. We eventually decided that the alarm was an electronic version of the boy who cried wolf, and boxed it up to be returned. We have since found much cheaper options that give us peace of mind without false alarms and anxiety riddled nights. Sorry Owlet, I hate to write such a response because your product is the best in theory, but your deliverance of a functional product is lacking.
Pros: App works well with iPhone
Cons: App does not work with Android, Excessively frequent false alarms, Poor Wifi range, Short battery life, Terrible connectivity

Saved our 2 week old!

I bought this initially because I was terrified of the current pandemic and thought that the Owlet would give us some piece of mind in knowing that our baby was breathing ok. 2 weeks after our son was born, the Owlet alarmed us that his heart rate was 284. At first I thought “no way! I put it on wrong” but reading after reading continued to show that his heart rate was above 280 and inching towards 300. We rushed him to the ER where they were able to successfully bring it down and then he was rushed to picu to be observed for a few more days. We were then informed that he has STV and we are now managing with medication. We will continue to monitor him with the Owlet and now swear by it! I
