Needs fine tuning

It needs some serious fine tuning. I had it for two weeks hoping it would not act up so much. It kept turning blue and singing songs in middle of night waking my baby up. I will just stick with the movement monitor Seems to have the kinks out a bit more than this product

Excellent product when the app is not having glitches

I purchased this product 3 months ago & have had 3 issues that I had to get tech support for in that period. I am very happy with what the actual product and base station do, but it's very frustrating to have to constantly deal with spending time with tech support fixing the app so that we can control the unit without going into our daughters room or see her stats. I feel like the company is having a hard time keeping up with the technology that they are advertising which is not really ok for a $250+ product.

I love the owlets, I bought them used because I have triplets and I could not afford the $900+ for the new ones. However, I did order the new socks in pink and blue so I could tell them apart. I feel much better having my girls wearing these. I'm not giving 5 stars because of 1. I needed to buy 3 for preemie triplets and a lot of companies offer deep discounts for HOM families, I'm not saying I wanted them for free but even with the 10% off, they offered I still could not afford 3 of them. 2. The app only work for one baby and one account, therefore I have to either log on and off between accounts on my phone, or use my phone and 2 ipads.
Pros: Peace of mind
Cons: Cost when buying more than 1

I have been a child abuse detective for over 10 years. Unfortunately, I have seen my fair share of baby deaths, those from abuse/neglect, SIDS and accidental deaths (fire, suffocation, etc). I realize that we still do not truly know what causes SIDS, and we may not be able to stop it, but I also believe that a lot of deaths have been categorized as a SIDS death but could actually be explained as suffocation deaths. I realize that my job probably has built up a false strong possibility of this in my mind, but I sleep a lot better at night knowing that if my baby stops breathing, an alarm will sound and I will at least have a chance to immediately do something about it. As noted above, the Owlet offers peace of mind for me and I can sleep better. Knowing what I know, and that the Owlet gives me options, I would feel guilty NOT to use one. I also like the ability to check my baby's vitals from my smart phone. Whether at home or away from home, I can check it when she is sleeping. I think the company has made some adjustments since we first bought the Owlet. We had a couple false alarms and a lot of the alarms telling us that the sock fell off early on. We have not had a false high pulse alarm for a long time. The other false alarms are now very rare. When we forget to plug in the sock to charge during the day, it usually cannot make it through another night on the battery power left over. I usually do not sleep very well that night. Either we have to leave it off or put it on, knowing that the alar will go off in the middle of the night when the battery dies.
Pros: I can sleep well when she wears her Owlet
Cons: Annoying when the baby moves too much - alarm

Unpleasantly surprised

I purchased the owlet because my daughter came 6 weeks early, spending quite some time in the NICU. Within the first 2 months, the alarm went off frequently. Frantically jumping up to check on the baby. It would alternate from high heart rate to low heart rate. So I began personally checking her pulse. It was normal. I notified owlet and they say "it can be common for newborns to have some false alarms." Yet that's when most parents are concerned. Relying on accuracy. Then my owlet suddenly stopped working. I spent an hour 'troubleshooting with a tech. Of which no resolution, had to send another monitor. Now, 2 months later, my base keeps 'losing connection or asks me to reposition sock'. Again false alarms. By now, I feel this product is faulty and more hassle than good. I wouldn't recommend unless they can fix all "bugs".

GREAT! But if you have multiples very tricky

I have twins and I am a single mom trying to insure my babies are monitored. Product is awesome but I wish I could see both babies reading on my phone. Had to have my mother sign up for one baby and me the other. If I want to see both babies levels I have to log in and out. Very inconvenient. Please come up with a multiples base.

Beyond Grateful

I received the owlet sock as a baby gift and have been so grateful for it. My fourth baby was diagnosed with RSV when he was 2 weeks old. He was having a hard time breathing and holding his breath at times. I took him in and sure enough we were sent to the hospital. He spent four days at the hospital and was then sent home on oxygen. We were able to come home because I told the doctors I had an owlet sock and I would be keeping track of his oxygen levels at home. I am so grateful I had the owlet. It went off a few times and I was so worried something was wrong. I realized he wasn't getting enough oxygen due to his sister turning his oxygen off....I don't even want to think of what would have happened if I didn't have the owlet to alert me. He was even able to get off oxygen sooner because his readings were so good and I was able to inform my doctor what his levels were. My baby is 3 months now and is doing great!! I personally know Kurt and his family and I'm so beyond grateful for this amazing product he and his team created. Thank you!!

A life saver!

I had my son December 7th, 2015. Everything was great just moved back home. Well on February 29th, 2016. He passed away from SIDS. 7 months ago I had my miracle baby Lilee. Literally when I found out I was pregnant we automatically looked for something to help at least prevent SIDS. We found owlet. We looked at so many but owlet kept catching our eyes. I am beyond blessed that we made the choice. Her oxygen dropped 1 time and if it wasn’t for it we wouldn’t have know. I’m so anti SIDS I researched so much that you can do to prevent SIDS. I’ve got SIDS bumpers, sheets, paci, and mattress. But the best thing I could have done was get the owlet sock.
