Do your research first

My wife and I got his product thinking it would give us peace of mind, but the only thing it has done is woken us up several times each night on false alarms. Many doctors including the American Pediatrics Association do not recommend these types of products.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Life Saver! I mean it!

I bought this right after my son was born. I have never regretted my decision. The owlet kept notifying us that my sons heart rate and oxygen levels were too low. After 16 ER visits, 39 Pediatric visits, switching pediatricians, 3.5 months of owlet sock monitor graphs, being denied by three specialist we found out that our son has a hole in the upper chamber of his heart and a moderate to severe case of laryngomalacia. I don’t even know what I would have done with out this monitor it kept me fighting because the monitor doesn’t just go off for nothing constantly. If you are on the fence if this is a good buy or not... IT IS 100%!

Had scariest experience! Alarm went off because my grandsons oxygen level got down to 78%! He had his face down on his alligator he sleeps with! I don’t even want to think about what could have happened! This sock is TRULY a life saver!

Make sure you have a strong wifi signal. Or the alarm will keep you up all night while your baby sleeps soundly. Sock also gets disconnected in the middle of the night and the only way to reconnect it is to plug it back in, so I have to wake my baby up if I want to continue to use it in the middle of the night.

Great investment

The owlet has been a great investment. It gives us peace of mind for when the baby and us are taking longer naps or when we are getting chores done and cannot look over the baby the entire time. The only thing I would advise a potential buyer about is the battery life. It seems that until we got into a habit of taking the time to charge the owlet up, it seemed like it was running low on batteries a lot. I wish the battery would last longer than my cellphone does. It is not a deal breaker but just a habit to get used to. Another thing I would improve is how the baby has to be still in order for the base to get the initial readings after putting the sock on. This can be frustrating when it is 3am, you are bleary eyed and the baby does not stop squirming after being swaddled. Once again, not a big deal but just a small frustration.
Pros: Peace of mind
Cons: Battery life, syncing time

Peace of mind GUARANTEED

My Dad purchased this for us because I put this on our registry. I’ve used it since day one and I couldn’t recommend it more. My daughter has been able to “toddler roll” to her belly since day 1, it’s how she prefers to sleep. With the sock I was able to sleep soundly the couple hours I did get in between nursing, and all parents know, that is EVERYTHING. We’ve only had two false alarms, and she’s almost a year old in June. It’s also a blessing when you run into your first fever - tracking vitals gives me peace of mind that her body is fighting it off correctly, the Tylenol is keeping the fever at bay, and she is safe and sleeping sound. This monitor just allows you to have one less anxiety with your new baby. Thank you owlet, I’m an overly anxious person, and having this monitor made being a first time mom just a tiny bit easier. I’ll add then and now photos

Best baby product on the market

We were going back and forth on if we should get this product 16mo ago when we were pregnant with our 2nd child. At the time the product was $300 and we were not sure if we wanted to spend the money. I went into labor almost 6 weeks early and we ordered it from the hospital bed that day. Our little preemie guy spent some time in the NICU before coming home. Our first few nights at home the alarm went off while he was sleeping due to a low oxygen level. This would happen while in the NICU as well. Once we would wake him his oxygen level would return to normal. When he was 6 weeks old he was diagnosed with RSV. He was seen in the ED and not admitted at that time as he was not in distress and had improved while in the ED. We were sent home with symptoms to watch for. That night the sock monitor went off with low oxygen levels and he was admitted to the hospital. I can't imagine what could have happened if it were not for the sock monitor to alert us during these times.
We have never had any false alarms with this product. It is small enough and easy to set up that we are able to easily travel with it. The customer service we have received has exceeded our expectations. They contacted us those first few days at home after having the alarm go off. They checked to make sure they were not false alarms, that we were using the product correctly, that the device was working correctly and also to make sure out little guy was ok. We had an issue with the monitor itself not wanting to charge this year and they were quick at getting a replacement sent out right away. I recommend this product to anyone having a baby. The peace of mind it brings if worth every dollar spent on it. LOVE LOVE LOVE the Owlet.

Relieves Anxiety & Worry

We loved the Owlet Smart Sock. We are older parents and were told we we’d never have children so our baby is a special blessing. Night time was when we worried the most but only until we got the Owlet when our daughter was about three weeks old. We used it every night until she was 13 months old. As a PICU nurse we use this technology in the hospital so I know the value and piece of mind this equipment offers. A must have for any family.
