Owlet saved my son!

My son is 5.5 months old and was born at 38 weeks. We have used the owlet religiously since he came home from the hospital. Last week he was diagnosed with RSV and were told to keep an eye on him since his lungs sounded clear. Monday night he got his first red alert and we scooped him up...he seemed fine so we got him back to sleep in his crib in our room. Not even an hour later, another alarm went off. We took him to the ER where his oxygen dropped while he slept. We were sent home and told to watch him and our owlet let us know when it dropped (which was 10 times over 4 days with naps and nighttime sleep). This saved our little boy and gives us the biggest peace of mind.

Very grateful for the Owlet!

My 9mo son has started to have seizures when awake so we bought the Owlet for peace of mind overnight. Since then the Owlet has alerted us to 2 seizures overnight, one from low oxygen and one from movement. I’ll never be able to explain how grateful I am for this product.

Glad I splurged on this

I knew I'd be a nervous first time mom so I splurged for peace of mind and I'm so glad I did! From the day we brought our son home it's given me the ability to sleep so much better at night. It paid for itself a million times over recently when he had a bad case of RSV at only a month old. I wouldn't have gotten any sleep without this. He was having such a hard time breathing when he slept that I wouldn't have known whether he was getting enough oxygen without it. I was able to tell the doctor what his levels were during sleep so we could make a more educated decion about whether or not a hospital stay was necessary. Setup was easy (always surprised when setup for any electronic actually goes smoothly), we've never had a false alarm in the 6 weeks we've had it, and the app is very easy to use. Sometimes the sock will get disconnected if we are holding him or if he kicks it off, but that doesn't happen very often and it's usually user error if it comes off. If you're on the fence because of the price, just do it. You'll be glad you did when the 3 hours of sleep you get a night is sound sleep.

Peace of mind but glitchy

I love that the owlet gives you peace of mind when in use. But I’ve noticed that the sock and app do not always work however the base is still flashing green. It doesn’t show my babies vitals every time I check and I have to unplug and restart it multiple times for it to sync properly. This worries me that of/when the time comes for an alarm I won’t be notified because of the inconsistency. The camera is also great but I wish I could see it on my locked screen not just in app, like the sound.

Disappointing App

I bought the smart sock a month ago. It does give me peace of mind knowing that the dock will alert me if oxygen levels are low and heart rate is high. I am, however, disappointed in the app. It seems as though I constantly have to reset the dock so that it will recognize the app, and even then it rarely gives me the sleep readings. It is frustrating to know how helpful that info would be but that I will hardly ever see that. I believe the sock is a pricey item, so you would think all elements of the product would work perfectly. Pretty disappointed overall, but I will continue to use so that the dock can alert me if my baby stops breathing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Saved my baby's life

My son is 8 months old and has worn his Owlet sock every night since birth. He has recently started sleeping a little wild. He lays on his side with his body facing one way and he turns his head the opposite way. He spit up a very small amount this morning and with his head turned, it caused his oxygen to drop. The monitor alarmed and my husband raced in and saved him (I was at work). He was a little lethargic, but came to in seconds. I truly feel if it wasn't for this monitor my son could be dead. This alerted my husband which saved his life!!!! Best money EVER spent.

Nice idea, horrible WiFi connectivity!

The sock gives great info when it is connected but I have spent hours getting it connected after it loses the WiFi. It loses it over and over again and then takes multiple tries to get connected again every time. We have very strong and fast WiFi and all of our other devices have no problem with the connection. We have about given up on this. It was supposed to save us sleep but instead I am up late trying to get It connected. What a waste of money!!

DETECTED A HEART DEFECT ON MY 8 DAY OLD BABY

I can not rave, and thank owlet enough. I bought this more for peace of mind from SIDS, and it ended up detecting my 8 day old sons SVT on its first episode. We've been in the PICU for 2 days now and because of the owlet and how it alerted us of a 264 heart rate, we caught his CHD so early, even the cardiology team is impressed. I cant tell moms enough that this machine is worth every single penny. It just saved my baby boy so much pain and potential to have this become something worse than it is. THANK YOU OWLET.
