Great product, with a few flaws

I bought this product a week or two before my baby boy was born. Overall, the product accomplishes what it has set out to do... it provides an easy-to-use app with the ability to monitor your baby's heart rate and blood oxygen levels, as well as an alert system if either of those levels go out of range. The sock itself is well made and I also appreciate the ability to charge the sock with the magnet on the base station.
With that said, there are a few minor flaws that customers should be aware of:
1. During initial setup, there is a point where you have to leave the app and go into your list of WiFi networks and connect to the Wifi network that the Owlet is broadcasting to be able to continue, but there is no explicit instruction to do this. This may be detailed in the manual online, but it's really something that should be explicitly said during the on-screen prompts during setup.
2. If you have your baby sleeping in your room with you, and you have the Owlet base station on your nightstand, the base station will start emitting a lullaby whenever you walk with the baby too far away from the base station. This was a big annoyance to us until we figured out that you can actually press and hold the base station to turn it off temporarily in these situations. This wasn't all that clear when first setting up and using the product, but just so new customers are aware.
3. We have had 2 false alarms so far where the base station lit up red signaling that there was a problem, but the issue was really that the sock had shifted slightly and transmitted an inaccurate reading. My advice for new customers would be to treat red alarms from this product as an initial signal to check on your baby, but don't necessarily immediately assume the worst because it's very possible that the sock may have shifted causing a false alarm. This does not happen all that often, but every once in a while it can.
Overall though, this product is solid and worth the buy.

Great product

The Owlet Smart Sock 3 is a wonderful product for parents who have children with a heart condition. Although it is not a medical device, it monitors the heartbeat and oxygen level, providing a peace of mind to parents. The only downside is that it is not remote so when you leave the premises of the base, it doesn’t work. The second downside is that it comes with one sensor so when the sensor is on charge, you can’t monitor the baby. Other than that, it’s a wonderful tool for keeping a close eye on children with a heart condition!

Peace of mind!

When our little guy was born he was quickly exposed to big brothers germs. We found ourselves in the ER with high a very high temperature at just 2 weeks old. Another 2 weeks go by and the virus is getting our guy down again with breathing issues. Back to the ER we went. I was terrified to sleep once we got home. So we went out and purchased the SS3 and quickly fell in love with the product. Our dude is now on the mend almost a month later. I see us continuing to use these products. I love the stats, sleep patterns, and knowing I can rest easy. We will continue to tell friends and family about the products! Love the concept but could use improvements

I’m so happy I have a product that lets me sleep and not worry about checking my baby every hour to make sure he’s breathing! One of the biggest cons is we live in a large house and the sock can only be in a 10ft range of the base so we can’t keep it in our room to hear it if the alarm went off. We have to keep it in the baby’s room and “hope” to hear it through our baby monitor which makes me a little nervous because the monitor only picks up certain sounds. When the sock gets disconnected it makes a lullaby sound and I can’t hear that through the monitor so I am a bit nervous that if there was an emergency I wouldn’t hear it and this purchase would have been for nothing.

Love the sock!

I learned about owlet for the first time from my sister in law and couldn’t imagine not having it for my baby. We bought it right after he was born so we would have it for his first nights stay at home. As a FTM it gives me a great peace of mind at night so I am able to get some sleep too. I would recommend this product to anyone and think that it’s worth every penny.

A little extra peace of mind

We love our Owlet sock! Our son (first baby) was born at a whopping 10lbs 10oz so he had to graduate to his crib at only 11 weeks. I was one nervous Mama and the Owlet gave us that little extra peace of mind. Even though our nursery is right next door to our bedroom, being able to take a quick look in the app helped with the anxiety. Apart from helping with the nerves, the app has been super useful in tracking his sleep and being able to have an idea of his resting heart-rate and avg blood oxygen level. The only thing I’d do to improve the app is add the ability to pause readings from the app itself so that, if you’re with baby and know he will be up and moving for a while, you don’t have to continually silence yellow or blue notifications. But that’s really just an inconvenience. We recommend the Owlet to all new parents. This review reflects my experience with and opinion of this product as an actual customer. Great! Except for sp02 min.

I absolutely love this sock. In my opinion an easily accessible product for monitoring heart rate and sp02 in infants, in home was LONG overdue. However, the preset minimum sp02 of 80 is too low. Per owlette website itself, anything below 90 is cause for concern. Website also says that you can't adjust the minimum measurement because the range was designed by professionals to prevent false alarms. My babies sp02 has never dropped below even 95% while wearing the sock (I stare at it...A LOT lol) and I would trade the rare occasion of a false alarm for the peace of mind that would come with knowing the sock would wake me up before my babies sp02 got to 80. I hope In the future this will change!

Great peace of mind!

We were gifted the Owlet Smart Sock 3 by my family who have all used Owlet products and just love them and love the peace of mind they were always able to get while using these products. So I was very excited to get the sock and use it on my baby girl once she was born. Overall the experience of the sock has been great! We have had some false alarms over the course of using it, but those scary moments are outweighed by the peace I get every single night going to bed without worrying if she is okay. I would recommend getting this if you think you’ll need the peace of mind as well.
