Very useful!

Bought after my 5/6 month old started belly sleeping-but the issue was sleeping facedown into the mattress. Which made me a bit paranoid, maybe its just from being a 1st time parent-I don't know. Anyway, glad we got it. I can check the baby on the monitor we have (not an Owlet monitor) and check the Owlet app. I like that it tracks heartrate and o2 AND sleep. So we have a much better idea as to the babys sleeping habits. Slight drawback was the base tends to go off after she's been wiggling a LOT and right when she's settled back down to sleep. We had to move it to the nursery because it kept going off in our room (just down the hall) if someone was in the hallway blocking it. Otherwise, I like it and found it useful. Sleep much better now at least. Because of the 2 drawbacks, that was why I gave it a 4-would be a 5 otherwise! I still highly recommend it.

Relief to first-time parents

We bought the Smart Sock 3 for our newborn within the first week of bringing her home. We had not added it to our registry because the price was a deterrent and thought that we would be fine without it like generations of parents past have done. After leaving the comfort of the hospital where we knew our baby was being checked every couple hours, our paranoia began to grow. We discussed the pros and cons of taking on such a purchase and after using the Smart Sock for only about a week there are absolutely no regrets in the decision. We highly recommend thoroughly reading all the literature that is included in the packaging as well as on the app. We felt very confident using the sock properly and maintaining it over time. The Owlet company provides detailed information for its customers and is clearly invested in helping parents have peace of mind. We did have some difficulty in setting up the base to connect with our WiFi for some reason but the Owlet customer service was very helpful and easy to work with. The biggest things we watch for is making sure the strap around the ankle is not too tight when placing and not overly checking the app for stats instead of actually looking at our daughter first. Overall, we have enjoyed having a product from a customer focused company that helps us all get peaceful sleep.

Peace of Mind

We purchased the Owlet to provide peace of mind for our newborn. So far, its been great to have, especially as our baby starts to sleep for longer and longer periods. We are able to check the app to make sure that he is doing fine, and we also enjoy the sleep quality monitoring that it provides. The fit of the sock has been fine so far – the only instances we receive notifications that the monitor cannot pick up a reading are during changing or feeding/burping, so never while our baby has been sleeping. It is important to change the sock every week or so as there was some slight chafing at first, but we have not had this come up again after the first week of wearing. The only issue we’ve really run into is that the Owlet requires 2.4ghz Wi-Fi to work and is not compatible with 5ghz channels. We had to reconfigure our Wi-Fi in the house to separate out the channels, which can weaken the signal and cause interruptions in the day to day effectiveness of our Wi-Fi. Especially with working from home right now, this can be inconvenient, so would love to see Owlet be compatible with both 2.4 and 5ghz channels in the future. Ultimately though, the peace of mind is definitely worth the slight inconveniences.

Great features but wasn’t for us.

I bought this for our newborn as a safety measure when he sleeps. The sock is pretty great at keeping watch over his levels but when the baby was doing certain activities like drinking his milk or pooping, the monitor would either go above or below the normal limits and keep sounding on my phone and on the device as well. Other than that it was a great product to use.

I purchased the Owlet Smart Sock when my baby was a month old. She had a NICU stay, so, for peace of mind, we decided to get the Smart Sock 3. The unit is very durable and charges quickly, which is great. The app is very user friendly and I am extremely happy with our purchase.

Best thing to ever happen for us!

I bought this when my 2 month old was covid positive. It was super scary not knowing what would happen because we all don't know much about it yet and how it reacts with infants. I was already interested because of SIDS risk but now I really wanted it. She was just starting to have longer stretches of sleep and what a more convenient time because it only made me worry more. Leading up to this day I already had really bad anxiety at night. I couldn't sleep being worried about her. This gives you that little bit of assurance. I love it. I can check how she is from my phone. Hear heart rate. Her sleep cycles. Oxygen. And it even tells you if she is awake or wiggling lol it is great for mornings too when I get up I can check my phone because I can't hear her aka she isn't crying yet but she is awake so I get her bottle ready just in time. I also like that it saves the past nights graphs so you can compare nights. It really is amazing. I love it.

I like that it has 2 sizes for their little feet. I love the velcro positions. The only feedback I would give is the notifications. I wish there were more options
