Great monitor, one flaw

We have been using this monitor for a week after 3.5 months with a medical grade oximeter from Norco.
Our son was born prematurely with respiratory issues. Our pediatric pulmonologist suggested we begin monitoring with an owlet since we are no longer requiring regular oxygen therapy.
Overall I am pleased with it. The readings are on par with our medical grade oximeter. The advantages with the Owlet are that it is wireless, the sock stays put and it does not become finicky or give weird readings with baby’s movements.
The biggest drawback and only reason we will not give a 5 star review is that the alert presets cannot be changed. This is also our pulmonologists critique of the machine and reason our nicu drs discouraged the purchase of the machine. we spent months supplementing our baby’s breathing with oxygen when his o2 levels dropped below 88% for 8 seconds to now not getting an alert until he reaches 80%. Not much help. We like that we can get a trend idea after he wakes up but I can’t sit up the entire he sleeps to watch his numbers.

Rest Easy with this sock!!!

The Owlet Sock is the best investment we ever made. After a 3 week stay in the NICU, my 34 wheeler came home and I was a nervous wreck! He is my first baby and I knew that I would be staying up all night worried about whether or not he was breathing. The owlet sock helped me get some rest because it tracks everything and alerts me if anything is even slightly off with my baby. I highly recommend this sock to every new parent and especially for worry warts like me!

I bought this sock because my daughter has a few health issues. My husband and I were taking turns staying up with her and now we all get plenty of rest! I have to use the bigger sock because she is able to kick the small one off her tiny foot, but it still works amazingly!! I would recommend this product over and over again!

Priceless peace of mind

I was on the fence about getting this, but when my 2 day old newborn was diagnosed with COVID19, my anxiety was through the roof and I decided to try it. Knowing my baby is breathing well and sleeping has brought me tremendous peace of mind and relieved my concerns. So happy to have something that helped us through a very scary time!

Peace of Mind

We initially weren't going to bother with getting an Owlet Smart Sock because of the cost and the fact that we didn't feel it was a "necessity." We are so glad we changed our minds. It has been worth every single penny, because the peace of mind it brings to us is priceless.
We get very few false alarms, and the only time they have happened have been when we're burping or bouncing our baby and haven't removed the sock, which the sock manual clearly states can cause false readings.
It's wonderful never having to worry about how our baby is doing if she's out of sight or sleeps longer than usual. It's also been interesting seeing when and how she gets into a deep sleep (i.e. snuggled with us vs on her own). Our baby has yet to fall ill but I already know that when she does the Owlet will reassure us that she's ok even when congested with a cold, or it'll let us know if she's getting worse and needs immediate medical attention.

Worth it!

I held out on purchasing the Owlet because I was not sure I really needed to invest in it. After having gone 2 months without it I decided to purchase the Owlet sock and I do not regret it one bit!! The peace of mind I get when I go to sleep or leave the room & know I will be alerted if something is wrong has been worth every penny!!

Pay attention to sock placement.

Pay attention to how you put on the sock. My wife puts it on too loosely and we've had a couple of notifications to check sock placement. User error. Make sure it's on correctly and adjusted correctly. We have not seen any false alarms, and that's with the baby kicking and moving a lot. Check your sock adjustment! This product works and works very well. We can see his O2 level drop when he's feeding, and the alarm on the base station and both our phones go off. Very intuitive product and worth every dollar for the peace of mind. I had an issue with the IOS app on setup, but was easily able to get a hold of Owlet late in the evening to get it resolved. Excellent product and customer service. Would recommend this monitor to all new parents.
