Worth the struggle!

I bought this after I tested postive for COVID at delivery - both the nurses at the hospital & my pediatrician both reccomended a pulse ox for my son to monitor his oxygen. I had heard both positive / negative things about the owlet but decided to purchase! & we love it! The only down fall is getting the sock on the foot can be challenging. I work in the medical field & deal with pulse oximeters all day. It is very important to get it placed securely and in the right spot - otherwise you will get reads all over the board. So even though it took me MULTIPLE tries to get in on perfectly - it was worth it & got easier every time after. Be patient with yourself - it’s not easy.
Over all this product is a great on hand monitor if you have ANY concerns. It could be a bit more user friendly - however there is method to the madness on the sock & why it’s as difficult as it is to place on the foot. Its very important to have it placed tightly & correctly on your baby.
I will continue to recommend this monitor & I love how they truly care about the customers feedback.

Peace of mind

I bought this product because my baby just came home from a stay in the NICU. When I visited him him in the NICU, I liked being able to see his heart rate and O2 sat, and knowing that an alarm would go off if they fell. The Owlet replicates that monitoring, and lets me sleep knowing that if he cant breath I'll hear about it. It's a huge weight off my mind knowing his vitals are being monitored even when I'm asleep.

Helped a very scared mom and dad

I don’t normally write reviews for products, but the owlet was a godsend for us this week. We have used it consistently since our daughter was born, just for peace of mind and things were always normal on her readings. But this week, we had a very scary experience while visiting family in Santa Fe where we kept getting low oxygen alarms. Even though our daughter looked and acted okay after these alarms, it didn’t seem normal for her. So- It prompted us to take her to the ER and I’m so glad we did because she was experiencing severe altitude sickness and having dips in her oxygen levels. Thankfully the doctors were able to give her oxygen and we drove back home right after being discharged (to the low altitude state where we live) and she has been completely stable since. The owlet has continued to give us peace of mind that she is much better now that she is out of the high altitude. The owlet was truly life changing for us this week and I don’t know what we would’ve done without it.

Peace of mind at night!!

I bought this over a month ago and I absolutely love it! When my 7 year old was a baby she spit up in her sleep and I woke up to her choking on it, scariest moment ever. I heard about owlet products when I was pregnant earlier this year and I knew I had to get it. I’m so glad I did!! I have peace of mind whenever my little one is sleeping knowing the alarm will go off if there is anything wrong!!! It’s so easy to use and I highly recommend purchasing a smart sock!

Heart Condition discovered - thank you Owlet!

We purchased the Owlet and used it from the first night that we got home with our newborn son, Thomas. My ‘why’ for splurging on one was peace of mind as a new mom. Mostly, the thought that if he rolled and could not breath through his nose we would be alerted. It calmed a lot of my new mom anxiety and let me sleep, a major gift in and of itself. That made the Owlet worth it to us, but what I didn’t know was that we’d be even more grateful for it because it would lead us to discover our sons heart condition.
When Thomas was five and a half months old we were doing our nightly bedtime routine and Thomas was happy, cooing, and himself. We read books, fed him, and put his Owlet on. The Owlet immediately alarmed us that his heart rate was at 288. We took the monitor off then put it back on hoping maybe it was a false reading. The alarm went off again. At this point we listened to his heart by putting our ears on his chest - the phrase “heart beating out of your chest” is no longer an expression, we felt this and it was absolutely terrifying. We rushed him to the Emergency Room.
When we arrived the nurse confirmed a pulse of almost 290 and within seconds there was a slew of nurses rushing in; hooking up an EKG, putting an IV in, and holding him down (our poor sweet baby). It was incredibly hard to watch. After tests were administered a doctor came in to tell us that our son has SVT - supraventricular tachycardia - essentially he has an extra electrical circuit in his heart and occasionally his heart can get caught in that short circuit rhythm. This was something that he was born with and we did not know. The diagnosis was startling to us but it is a very managable condition and we are beyond grateful that the Owlet alerted us the way that it did. If it hadn’t, he may have gotten sick and it would have taken us longer to find out the why. Our cardiologist related his little heart to a battery and how dangerous it can get if they work too hard.
I cannot overemphasize to anyone who is expecting or has a new baby how thankful we are that we invested in an Owlet. Our son is thriving; he eats well, he is strong, he is happy. We had no idea that he had an underlying heart condition and we owe it to Owlet that we found it when we did. We continue to use it nightly (along with monitoring his heart with a stethescope daily and administering his medication according to his cardiologist). We hope this story helps others that may find themselves in a similar situation we are - every penny was worth it!

Peace of Mind

We lost our five month old grandson, Tristin, to SIDS a few years ago. It is a heartache that changes a family. Two of my daughters had babies this year. I purchased an Owlet monitor and sock for each of them before they delivered their babies. One of my daughters is a 2nd shift nurse and I kept the baby overnight. I soon realized how anxious I was, and now Grandma has an Owlet sock too! After receiving and using the sock, I was able to really rest knowing the Owlet would alert me to any issues. While I understand Owlet is not a medical device, it certainly provides an extra layer of monitoring which provides peace of mind, and that is PRICELESS!! Make the investment!!! It is worth every penny to monitor your baby!!!

The owlet saved my baby.

I finally caved in and purchased this for my 5th child and so glad I did. My son is 5 weeks old and was diagnosed with RSV. All was fine at first the. It progressively got worse. I noticed when he was sleeping his oxygen was getting lower and lower every night so we spent 5 night in a row going to the er for low oxygen and they told me when babies sleep their oxygen does and can drop and the lowest it got was 88 which was “normal” I didn’t know but glad I checked it. I told the dr I wasn’t comfortable going home because he was getting worse and worse and I just knew we would be back because it was following a pattern by getting lower each night. Well that night my husband and I tried to take turns staying up to watch him “even with the owlet” because I was scared. Well we couldn’t make it because it’s been a long week well that night we got woke up to the alert going off saying low oxygen and when I looked his o2 was 79% so I immediately took him to the hospital and he was admitted for 2 days with oxygen support. I’m so thankful for the owlet because my son might not be here without it. The dr tells me not to use the owlet because they can give false readings and I told them well it didn’t because the numbers were the exact same at home as it was at hospital. Don’t let these doctors discourage you from using it to give peace of mind. I hate how they do that. I will continue to use mine until he outgrows it! Thank you owlet

Love the peace of mind!

I initially didn’t think to get this, but after my baby was in the NICU due to breathing issues, my husband and I decided for peace of mind it would be worth it. Im really glad we got it for that alone! I’ve only had a few false alarms when we first began using it, but it seems to have improved as I learned how to fit it better to my baby’s foot. Either way I’d much prefer the false alarms to not knowing anything! Im glad we got this and that it will be useful for many years!
