Helps to ease my anxiety

I bought this before my daughter was born because I have a history of delivering premature babies. She was delivered 6 weeks early (not to our surprise) and in the NICU for 28 days. although the NICU does not recommend this product, they said if this helps my anxiety at night, go for it. Which I did. my daughter was born respiratory issues. Since being home this product has been great. I only use it at night (because I don’t want to over use it) we put it on at her last feeding of the night (11pm) and she wears it until (8am) as long as the sock is positioned correctly, there are no False alarms. I like how it tells me her oxygen & heart rate because she always had bradycardia events in the NICU. This product may not be for everyone but it surely has helped me. My anxiety is eased at night and I can sleep a little better.

We have had this smart sock for about 2 weeks and I’m in love with it! We didn’t want to spend the money at first and purchased a Sense U monitor for half the price and you get what you pay for! The other monitor gave false alarms, disconnected randomly, was hard to pair to my phone. The owlet has been a breeze! Easy to set up, reliable, have had zero issues! My baby girl has periodic breathing and will stop breathing for a few seconds, without the smart sock I wouldn’t sleep!

I initially purchased the owlet set so I got the monitor along with the sock in order to have a one stop shop for a monitor and I’m really regretting my decision! The app hardly ever works... so not only can I watch my baby when she sleeps sometimes the sock doesn’t work either. I wish I went a different route
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’m a new parent and want what is best for my little one. The sock has allowed me to get better sleep knowing that my baby is breathing. The sock is comfortable for her; she doesn’t fuss when it’s on her foot. The sock has not left any marks on her at all. It’s super easy to use and set up.

My son was born a couple of weeks ago. He spent some time in the NICU after being born. A day or two later I purchased the Smart Sock. The peace of mind it offered me was truly invaluable. Paired up with the Cam, if feel like an omnipotent parent!!

When it works its a fine product, however it rarely works. Always stuck on searching for base station and constant issues with the video feed. Take it upon yourself to read their responses on questions about the device not functioning properly. Loved this at first now after resetting it for the millionth time I'm over it.

This is one of the best products I have ever purchased for my baby! The peace of mind this sock gives is like none I ever thought I could get. While this sock, like any technology, will never replace a parents instincts. It’s still nice to have. I have been woken up to alarms when my baby has wiggled her sock loose or when the sock has lost contact with the base station. But knowing that I will be alerted and have a chance to help my baby girl if her stats drop is amazing. So many parents wouldn’t even know something was wrong. Can’t recommend this enough! We used it on our first baby and are so happy to use it on our second! Also the new app is pretty cool and very easy to navigate. We definitely recommend the Owlet Smart Sock 2!

If you are on the fence, READ THIS

Like some of you, I read the negative reviews and could not shake them to commit to buying the sock. Before we could be discharged from the NICU last November, they required proof us us purchasing a breathing monitor. At that time, only the Smart Sock 2 was available. They recommended a wearable because of the lack of false alarms. It was helpful until our baby started moving more and bending the sensor. When we were offered the newest sock, we decided to take the chance. The Owlet Smart Sock 3 is the best baby product we own!
Our baby has apnic episodes (stops breathing) due to silent acid reflux. She has a team of doctors and every single of them has been immensely grateful and relieved we have the Owlet. The app history provides them with valuable information on how she is doing. The sock is not a medical device, but it is a helpful tool.
First and foremost, check/observe your baby! It’s so hard when alarms are going off, but I’ll share a personal story as to why it is so important. I got my baby up from a nap. She was happy, alert, and babbling with a pacifier in her mouth. She was continuing to laugh and babble while I changed her diaper. Her pacifier fell to the floor, so looked at her face and noticed her mouth and nose were dark blue, like frostbite. Her hands were purple up to her elbows as were her feet. My first instinct was to call 911, but she was alert and giggling. I immediately checked the Owlet and she was 100%. It was odd, but I knew I could call her pediatrician versus 911 or rushing her to the ER. (We did this based on her breathing by a RN at 11 days old and overheard us being labeled as “first time parents” by the EMS and ER staff. They would have thought I was bonkers by the time they saw her and she was fine). Our ped referred us to a cardiologist and he was able to determine the cyanosis was due to her reflux thanks to his tests and the Owlet information. Again, assess your baby then use the sock as a tool!
The Smart Sock 3 hasn’t only helped our daughter. All 3 of us got COVID-19 in April before tests were readily available. Because we could monitor all of our oxygen levels (they were in the upper 80’s-low90’s), we were approved for tests (we did not run fevers so we were initially not approved). I suffered chest pain, cough, and difficulty breathing for a month. My doctor said having my oxygen level information was invaluable and saved me from having to go to the hospital.
Outside of personal experiences, the sock is easy to set up, the app is user friendly, the sock washes up great (recommended to be done weekly), and the customer service team is quick to respond and resolve any issues! Long gone are the overheating sensor and false alarms!
There are only 2 things I would improve if I could. 1) They ran a base update awhile ago and our sock/base range drastically decreased. We used to be able to be anywhere in our house, but now it’s about 50 feet before we get a notification. 2) The monitor will not send a red alert unless the oxygen dips below 80%. This is significantly below hospital settings for alerts. I wish it would alarm around 87%.
Clearly, we love the Owlet Smart Sock 3. This is an honest, unbiased review by a mom with a baby who has spent more than half her life being held upright almost 24/7 to keep her reflux down and her breathing.
Is the sock expensive? Yes. Is it flawless? No. Is it worth it? 100%
