Grateful for the Owlet!

I just want to thank the creators for creating the owlet. I purchased this after my 4th daughter was born and ended up in the NICU for 12 days because of birth complications and desaturation in her oxygen levels. When I got home from the hospital the owlet gave me peace of mind because I knew she was breathing and her levels were good. About a month and a half later we noticed the alarm started going off all the time for low oxygen levels. We then told the dr about this and tested her levels at the Dr's office because they had never heard of the owlet and thought I was basically crazy for having it. From that Dr's apt we were rushed to a local hospital then immediately to Boston children's hospital where we stayed for 5 weeks. She has now been diagnosed with a very rare genetic disorder called congenital central hypoventilation syndrome and less than 2,000 people in the world have it. Basically it's a rare syndrome that can cause a child to stop breathing when they are sleeping possibly causing SIDS. We are lucky enough to have had the owlet to notice her oxygen levels drop which ended us up in the hospital and then with a diagnoses that has potentially saved her life. Had we not had the owlet, it is very possible she could have stopped breathing one night and we would have never known. So, I cannot thank the creators of the owlet enough and will be forever grateful for this great invention. Thank you again!

I love the Owlet for numerous reasons. I love being able to wake up in the middle of the night to the glowing light. It's amazing how much better we both sleep.

We bought this to monitor our 10week premature baby. We were incredibly nervous after leaving the NICU, where he was always hooked up to monitors. Coming home, our video monitor was OK, but had no monitoring of vitals. While we still slept with one eye open, at least that one eye was on my IPAD, that essentially became a baby monitor. Rather than having to be 1 inch from his little face to see if he was breathing (because once all swaddled up, he just resembles an Eskimo, you can't see his chest rise and fall) we relied on the monitor to confirm.
Pros: Elegant Design, Light Weight, Small, Wireless, great app
Cons: Cannot customize heart rate or 02 alert levels, No Android support

When the base is receiving a poor signal from the actual foot reader it alarms. I love the idea of this but hearing the base go off when getting minimal sleep anyways is annoying

The only negative thing with this product and it's not really a negative is the false alarm. But I'd rather be woken up to the false alarm than waking up to a non breathing baby. So I can't complain!

I love my sock! I sleep so much better knowing the owlet is monitoring my son. As an RN, being able to see number is very reassuring. Especially a few weeks ago when my son had a cold. This sock gave me so much reassurance. There are some down sides such as 1) it only works for iPhones so far 2) the base must only be 10 feet away from the sock (but if baby sleeps in the nursery and you also use a baby monitor, you will be able to hear the alarm on your monitor as the alarms are very loud) 3) baby must be completely still (asleep) to see the heart rate and oxygen saturations. I think the benefits of this product far out weigh the down sides! I have already recommended this product to all my RN friends and a few have already ordered theirs as well!
