We bought our Owlet after our second son was born in October of 2015. I had no idea how much I would appreciate having it in just the first month alone. Although our number one reason in purchasing the Owlet was to protect our son from SIDS, it has truly proven to be more than just a SIDS monitor. Our son got his first cold at 18 days old (I guess that's what happens when you have a toddler at home!), and I was SO relieved to have the Owlet on our baby boy when his breathing was restricted due to being sick. I felt peace of mind knowing that his breathing was being monitored when his poor tiny airways were stuffed up. We were also ecstatic to have our Owlet during the first month because our son was having some issues where he would briefly stop breathing and throw up after feedings. I was scared to death that it was going to happen when he was sleeping! I am so grateful we made the investment in Owlet after going through both of these unanticipated situations. How can you put a price tag on your baby's life and your peace of mind? Now as for the design/ease of use...Owlet has done a phenomenal job!! Set up is done through the app and it walks you through it step by step and even has videos to help get you started. The app itself is a breeze to use, and I haven't had one issue with it. One reason we went with Owlet over other monitors (besides it is the only one of its kind! Nothing truly compares) is that other monitors are known for giving a lot of false alarms. We have had none. I honestly love this product so much, and can't recommend it enough to other parents. Thank you Owlet for making such a wonderful product!!!!

We adopted a baby boy who was severely underweight with NAS. I wasn't getting any sleep because I was constantly checking if he was breathing. Owlet is awesome. It gives me the peace of mind I need to get to sleep at night. I haven't had any trouble with the sock falling off, even on his tiny skinny little foot. He even has tremors where his leg shakes and the sock stays on.

We have been using the owlet monitor for a month now and it has saved our sleep. I am a very anxious person and with this monitor I can sleep so good. I love how there are different sized socks so you can used this product for multi stages. However the smallest sock design doe not fit my child very well and I find I have to over tighten the Velcro to insure we won't get woken up by the hard time reading alarm. The Velcro on the smallest sock scratches my child's foot, because of the not the greatest design I have to angle the top piece leaving some of the Velcro exposed which leaves scratch marks on her skin. There are some nights when I don't get any blue alarms and then there are nights when I'm woken up every hour with a blue alarm. It would be wonderful if the connection was a little stronger. The bassinet is less than 5' away from the base and it still gets disconnected randomly in the middle of the night sometimes. It would be nice to be able to tighten up the vital range so the alarm will sound with the slightest change. Over all I would not want to go a day without this monitor
Pros: App works awesome, Different sized socks, Different tone for technical difficulties, Helps anxious parents rest easy
Cons: Infant sock design could be better, Large set range for vitals, Velcro on smalleat sock is scratchy side on skin, Weak Bluetooth

Poor app with great product!

The product was packaged well and works great. The app is not great. It gets stuck on the welcome screen and requires me to close and restart the app. It isn't optimized for the higher resolution screens and cannot be using in landscape. This app could also benefit from IOS 9 multitasking support to enable monitoring while also using an IP camera application. Few enhancements if and have been made since my purchase.
Pros: Great device and monitor
Cons: Poor app reliability and functionality

I had a child in the NICU for 4 months and you get attached to the monitors.! This helps you after you leave the hospital. Gives you a sense of control over the information that you feel that you need to help your child live and grow.
