Disappointing and not near as awesome as the reviews say

My husband and I were so excited about purchasing the Owlet! The reviews online were great, we were confident that we picked the best option for our needs. Now that we have the Owlet and have used it nightly on our 2 month old, it is not near as awesome as everyone says. The range is only 10 feet from the docking station. At night if we take the baby into the kitchen to make a bottle, it goes off. While sleeping at night, the Owlet constantly goes off with false readings. It also goes off at night saying that the sock has been disconnected, but it is still perfectly secured onto our sons foot. It is very frustrating that this device is so expensive and is not near as accurate as it should be for the price. The Owlet is supposed to give you peace of mind, but in reality it just freaks my husband and I out. We jump up to check on our baby, and he is sound asleep. This is not something that has happened a couple of time here and there, the Owlet goes off several times a night at our house. Some people love it, but unfortunately for us it has been a waste of money and we are very unsatisfied with this product.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love this product! We sleep better!

This product has helped my husband and I sleep better. We do not have to check to be sure our baby is breathing constantly like before. The app works great so we can check on our baby. He sleeps in a bassinet next to our bed but it's still a huge help! It's sometimes hard to see his chest rising in the dark and touching him sometimes wakes him up.
Pros: Baby doesn't seem to mind it, Easy to use, Parents get better sleep
Cons: Must be charged every day

Enjoy the peace of mind

Our first child spent several weeks in NICU so we were able to monitor her heart rate and oxygen levels for quite a while. We were nervous about not having the same knowledge of our new son's levels. The Owlet has been great for being able to monitor his vitals and we have more peace of mind knowing we will be alerted if he is ever in distress. My only complaint is that it is extremely sensitive, and if your newborn sleeps in an automatically rocking Rock-n-Play it will not give you accurate readings and will often give you false alarms. Now that our son no longer sleeps with it rocking, we have not had a problem.
Cons: Sensitive to movement

Our son had some trouble breathing at birth and we had a few frightening moments his first week of life where he had difficulty taking a breath. We were up around the clock, watching him in shifts. We were so relieved to receive the Owlet sock in the mail. We finally felt we could relax, knowing the alarm would wake us if our son's O2 levels or heartbeat were abnormal. He's a month old now, and we have used the Owlet every night with no false alarms or substantial difficulties. Once in a while, he manages to kick off the sock and the alarm lets us know that it needs to be repositioned - however, this is rare enough not to be a nuisance. Overall, we've been extremely satisfied and consider the Owlet a worthy investment in our sanity!

Great peace of mind.

I love having my peace of mind when my baby is asleep. I can leave the base in my living room and just bring my phone with me when I go in my room with my baby. The only thing I don't like is you only get one smart sock sensor. For the amount we pay, I think it should include 2, that way when one dies, you have one on her at all times. Especially newborns because they sleep more.

I really wanted to love this product, but unfortunately don't. I feel like it does not hold a charge very well and it is too sensitive it was constantly going off for no reason.

This baby monitor is very nice and convenient. Great style and I can now sleep well at night knowing that my baby is ok. The alert sounds are actually pretty nice. The app is great to use, it is really nice that you can get notifications straight to your phone. Works very nicely! The only down side is charging it daily.

Cons: Wifi range is very short, You have to charge it daily

Best thing for any parent

This was the best thing we could have bought, especially being first time parents. We have tried other products but they're nothing compared to the Owlet. We use the mobile app constantly to watch her pulse and oxygen levels and we've never had any issues with the sock falling off. If an alert were to go off, we have been able to not only hear it from our phones, but from the base station too which is about 30 feet away from our room. Any parent who I have spoken to who has a baby, I always recommend investing in this product.
Pros: Easily recognizable alerts, Mobile app, Various sock sizes
Cons: App takes long to open, Short Bluetooth range for sock and base
