My son was 6 weeks early and spent 10 days in the NICU for under developed lungs so to say we were nervous when we brought him home from the hospital is an understatement, but I put the Owlet on him and was able to sleep knowing that if something did go wrong I would know about it. I really do wish it monitored temperature as well. The monitor must stay pretty close to the base or the connection becomes disconnected and an alarm will sound. I learned that the hard way at 4 a.m. when I carried my son into the kitchen (next room over) and the base was in my bedroom
Pros: Easy to operate, Easy to set up, Great Customer Service, Peace of mind
Cons: Doesn't monitor temperature, Short distance between base and monitor

Great product great idea. Still room for improvement in the sensor, sock, base station and definitely the app.
Cons: Range of receiver is less than desirable, Sensor does not talk to phone not mobile system, Socks are not the best design for stayong on, iPhone app is not a focus for Owlet team

As a new Mom that worries about everything, this product absolutely lessened my anxiety at night and during naps when I first brought my daughter home. Personally I don't use it every night now, but when she's sick I put it on her and I can rest a little easier. We also live in an area that we cannot depend on WiFi, so knowing I don't NEED that is perfect. Don't get me wrong, the app is great, but it was a deciding factor when I purchased it. Great product!

Great monitor just falls off too easily

My wife and I bought this monitor to give us peace of mind at night when our baby was sleeping. Everything works great except for the fact that it falls off way too easily. We were having to put the monitor back on at least 3 times a night after our daughter wiggled around. We eventually used another strap that we had from the hospital to help hold it on. I would recommend making the Velcro straps longer so that there is more surface area to stay on. The heel strap could be longer to wrap around the front of the ankle to help the back strap stay on better. This appeared to be the part that would slide down off the heel first allowing the whole sensor to slide off her foot.
Pros: Easy to use, Peace of mind, Setup with app was easy
Cons: Monitor falls off too easily

The monitor is amazing! My daughter started choking while awake and sleeping. She sleeps next to me in her pack n play. While my husband is in bed with me, he is on the other side of the bed and sleeps with a cpap machine. The monitor doesn't sound an alarm with every moment at all, since my daughter has started kicking and throwing her arms around in the middle of the night. It barely becomes loose. Since we have had the owlet, it has sounded a few times at the very beginning. It sounded an alarm 2x because it came loose (1st 2 nights we had it), being to far from the base (1x), and not connected to the Internet (1st night). However, when it has gone off, my husband can hear it even with the cpap machine on, which is amazing! It is so easy to travel with as well! When I was in IL with our daughter and my husband was in MO, he could get the live readings on his phone. I wish we would have bought this as soon as my daughter started choking! Her doctor didn't recommend any monitors except a finger pull monitor, which this is essentially it but on her foot! I'm still hesitant to leave her of course when she is sleeping, but know that whoever is watching her, grandparents or husband, they can at least be alerted if she doesn't have oxygen!
Pros: Reliability, Sanity

We use the monitor for our baby who is 18 months old. She has a severe heart defect and we are thrilled to have a wireless monitor show us her oxygen saturation and heart rate. It does not work when she is awake at all. We have double checked it with our medical oximeter and it is right on. It also gives us peace of mind that it does alarm when her oxygen dips or her heart rate is too high or too low.
