Thank goodness for the Owlet! By far, the best thing we have purchased for our baby girl. We are first time parents, and our baby girl has reflux. She would spit up and choke during the night. Scared us to death! As a pediatric operating room nurse, I was a little skeptical regarding the technology, as I see first hand how inaccurate and finicky our pulse oximetey monitors are. We did some research, and after a couple of scares at night, we soon realized how much we NEEDED the Owlet. And we are so glad we did! We actually sleep now! We have had no false alarms, and she has only managed to kick her sock off once. We love it. It has helped relieve so much anxiety. We even have started sleeping her in the nursery. That would have never of happened without the Owlet. Especially since she is starting to sleep up to 7 hours at night. All we do now is wake up, look at our video monitor, see the glowing green base station and are able to sleep soundly. This will definitely be a baby shower gift from me to all of my soon-to-be-momma friends! Thank you Owlet, so incredibly much! You have become a part of our bedtime routine :).

The peace of mind has been such a help - I am so reassured by the green light at night!! I have found I am sleeping much more soundly. I'm not waking up in a panic and having to rush to check and make sure he is breathing. I am able to check the light when I wake up and go back to sleep. LOVE this monitor!

Welp, this gives me great peace of mind when it actually works. I put it on my baby every night & cross my fingers that it functions properly. Now that we have used it for a month & have seen that the baby's vitals are consistently normal, on the nights that the Owlet doesn't work, I feel less anxious that there might be a problem because all of the other nights, the baby was fine. I have multiple complaints, however I'm not willing to give the Owlet up completely because of how comforting it is on the nights that it does work. But it is sure expensive to have as many problems as it does! If there was anything else on the market similar to this, I would have returned it after the first week. The app for the Owlet is frequently glitchy. You don't need the app on your phone to work in order for the alarms to sound. However, if your phone app isn't working, then you need to be in the same room as the base in order to hear the alarms. Which brings me to my next issue, which is the fact that the base has to be so close to the sock in order to work. Therefore, I have had to sleep in the same room as the baby and the base in order to hear the alarms because my phone won't always give them to me. And on the nights the phone app is working, I have a problem with having to turn my ringer on in order to hear the phone alarms. Even though I have asked friends and family not to call between certain hours because my ringer has to be on, I still periodically receive calls from businesses early in the morning. And since I can't turn my phone ringer off because then I won't hear the alarms, these calls wake not only me up, but also the baby, because I have to be in the same room. It's dumb. And the socks that come with the Owlet are tiny! My baby was too big at birth for the newborn size as well as size 2. At 3 months old, he wears size 3 and there is only one size bigger after that. There's no way he will be able to use this past 6 months cause there won't be a sock big enough.
Cons: App is frequently glitchy., Base has to be super close to sock to work., Customer Service is IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of., Phone ringer has to be ON to receive alarms., Sock regularly becomes disconnected from base., The socks are TINY!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This device has been such a stress reliever for my husband and I. It is worth every penny and allows us to sleep soundly at night knowing that she is being constantly monitored. There have been so many reports of SIDS in my area lately with babies around the same age as my daughter and it was giving me such anxiety. Now that we have the Owlet the stress has almost completely disappeared. We have had one red alert which happened while she was as eating. Her oxygen levels got too low because she was holding her breath. That alarm is one of the scariest sounds in the world but I am glad it happened while she was in my arms awake so I could experience it without having to wake up to it in a panic. If you are on the fence about getting this, buy it. It is by far the BEST purchase I have made out of every baby item we have.

I use this product every night now that baby sleeps all night in her own crib in her own room. When she was breastfeeding every two hours turning the darn thing on and off was a pain. It would sound if blue tooth signal was blocked by my body. You can't hold baby and have alarm on.
Pros: Can check baby on your phone, Can tell app what alarms you want to hear, Comfy sock for baby, Great Customer Service, I sleep better, Peace of mind, Set up directions are very clear
Cons: If baby is moving too much it won't read, Sick can slip off, Too weak of Bluetooth signal, alarm must be off when holding baby, not very breastfeeding friendly

We purchased our Owlet before our 4th child's birth. We would have bought one for our first if we had known about it! It doesn't matter how many kids you have, the newborn phase is tough and those first few months can make you crazy. We put Theodore's sock on at night and are able to rest so much better. We have even popped it on during nap time. It's just our way of having another layer of protection for our Baby!
Pros: Peace of mind, Very easy to use!

As a Nurse Practitioner in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, I feel extremely grateful for this product. It works extremely well, and thanks to the three different alarms- we've never had to fly out of bed because we know what each alarm signals. Basically, we've never had a false alarm because of the way this monitor works. I'm so grateful and confident in the owlet that I recommend it to everyone with a baby. Everyone. The only issue is that I wish they had socks for the right foot. It would be nice to switch feet once in a while.
