Great for outdoor lights!

We have some patio lights that I like to turn on at certain times but I can imagine these will make our Christmas lights so much easier!! Super durable-great quality-excellent set up!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The smart plug itself is great but it was painful to set up. I have many other smart devices from many companies in my collection of bulbs, plugs, outlets, switches, etc. This was not difficult to set up in terms of process or steps as is it is very similar to many other products. You have to plug it in and when the light is blinking, you have to connect to the wifi signal it is omitting, then the app takes over and then you connect to your wifi signal and enter the password and then you are good to go. Easy and simple. However, the app would not connect to the router. Each time it fails it asks if you want to restart, which I did, then you have to hold the power switch on the side for 5 seconds until its in pairing mode again and then try again. This was a two pack. The first plug took 4 attempts of the same process and then it worked. Connected to my Alexa and I was off and running. Took about 15 minutes total. Not terrible, but inconvenient that I had to repeat the process 3 additional times. The second plug only took a second attempt, awesome! The app remembered my wifi, so I thought this at least sped up the process! Nope. I was wrong. As soon as it was connected and showed up on the app. *Cannot connect to server* every time I tried to turn on the plug. Cool, spend 3 minutes trying to figure out how to remove it from the app so I could try again. (You have to hold the tile on the app for 3 seconds and then you will have the option to remove.) Once I had it removed, I had to remove from my Alexa app as well, because after linking the first plug, it automatically added the second. (would have been cool had it worked!) Once I had the second plug completely removed, I tried to add it again... it took 4 more attempts. But it worked without issue this time. So if at first it does not work, don't rush to return it, just try again (and again).
Now for the plug and app once it is set up.. With this outdoor dual-plug, I especially love how I can control the two outlets separately in the app. What I am not a fan of is the weather-proof cover. The weather protection covering is an all or nothing protector, you cannot use one outlet and cover the other. I am using this for a string of party lights under my deck and I only need one outlet, so not being able to block off the other is annoying. I ended up covering it with a piece of tap just to make sure water doesn't splash into the open outlet. It would be better if there were 2 individual flaps/covers, one for each outlet. Some of my other plugs from different manufacturers have those on their outlets. As for the app, I tend to use all my devices through Alexa and not the app that comes with the device. It was easy enough to use to setup but not the cleanest I have used.
All in all, while the setup was painful, I wished the cover would have been able to allow me to use only one plug and the app wasn't as easy as it could have been, it is a great plug once set up. I have had it a couple weeks now and it has not disconnected once and functions just as a plug does. If you are tech savvy enough to get it set up, it is a great plug for the price!

Easy to use, great features

I was looking for a smart plug I could use outside in my garden to help control my buglight and my air pump for the fish pond. This plug did everything I could ask of it, plus some. It's easy to program and the App on the phone is super easy to understand.

I like how this outdoor plug is weatherproof, has surge and overheat protection, and has a UV proof coating. A booklet is included and it has a QR code to download the app. This is a great outlet plug for holiday lights or any kind of lighting year round. I highly recommend this smart outdoor WiFi outlet plug.
