Doesn't seem to integrate with smarthings, having to use another app or customize device handler in order to use it, how hard would it be to supply smarthings with the right handlers, when users themselves can do it???

A small booklet is included with a QR code to download the app. Easily setup an account. Added the plug to my account and I was up and running. Easily integrated with Google Assistant. Best part is separate control for each outlet. And you can customize the name for each.

Great smart device, but useless weather protection

I love Etekcity products, have already a number of smart outlets in my house, and wanted an outdoor wifi plug for my holiday lights.
The smart plug itself is perfect, as expected, and easy to set up just like all my other Etekcity outlets. With this outdoor dual-plug, I especially love how I can control the two outlets separately in the app. I wasn't sure that would work, but I'm glad it does.
What I am not a fan of is the weather-proof cover. The protection covering BOTH outlets at the same time makes it practically useless for my purposes, because I only have the Wifi outlet plug plugged into my porch outlet during the holiday season, and the rest of the year it's in a Rubbermaid container in the basement together with my holiday chains. So, for me, when it's in use, outside on my porch, over the winter, exposed to snow and rain, and I have only one of the two outlets in use, I cannot close the cover to protect the second open outlet. Defeats the purpose. When it's not in use, it's packed away in the basement and doesn't need weather protection. It would be better if there were 2 individual flaps/covers, one for each outlet. Some other manufacturers have those on their outlets, but then they don't work with the brilliant VeSync app.
Luckily I am using both outlets this year, so it doesn't matter to me as much. However, I am already thinking of expanding my display and then with a second dual-outlet I will have yet again one outlet exposed to the elements. I also wish, Etekcity would make more models for outdoor plugs, for example a triple-plug.
