Been using for about a month and I have not been wowed. I traded my 14 Pro Max for the 17 Pro Max expecting improvement in performance but I swear it is running slower. Little lags here and there makes me second guess my decision to (upgrade?). Yes, the camera is SO much better. But it’s a phone, camera, handheld COMPUTER. Emphasis on the handheld computer. Added thinness is negated by the CAMERA. And where is all this added processing speed from the new A19 CHIP supposed to witnessed? Well, I at least have get to buy new cases and cables (lightning to USB-C). I do get to reuse the C charger block that came with my 14 Pro Max. Good thing too, cause the 17 Pro Max doesn’t even come with a charger block, ONLY a c to c cord. ☹️
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hey Ronnie, thank you for taking the time to share your experience on the iPhone 17 Pro Max. We completely understand your concerns about performance, and we appreciate your honest feedback. While the iPhone offers significant improvements in camera capabilities there can occasionally be variations in performance depending on usage patterns, background apps, or software updates. We recommend ensuring your device is running the latest iOS version and checking for any apps that may be affecting speed. If the slower performance persists, we would be happy to help troubleshoot and optimize your device for the best experience.
About the A19 chip brings a number of performance and efficiency improvements, but some of these enhancements are most noticeable under demanding tasks such as gaming, video editing, or running multiple apps simultaneously.
Regarding accessories, you’re right—Apple now provides only a USB-C to USB-C cable with the 17 Pro Max, so if your older cases or Lightning cables aren’t compatible, new purchases may be necessary. It’s great that you can still reuse your USB-C charger block from the 14 Pro Max, which helps reduce extra costs while transitioning to the new device.
We appreciate your feedback; it highlights both the performance improvements and the practical changes in accessory compatibility that are affecting users. Thanks for choosing AT&T, we are here to help!
I have had this phone around a month. My opinion is that it so far is just another phone. I only got it because I need more memory. If I could have done that with my trade in, I think I would have stayed with the trade in. I mead having to upgrade all my accessories was not worth the upgrade in my opinion.
I find this phone not worth the price at all, I am very disappointed, seems so slow and the AI is 200% worse than my Samsung device, I am actually trying to sell the iPhone because I don't even use it, very bad decision I made to buy an iPhone
I have attempted to try “the other guy’s smart phone” but keep coming down to the quality and usability of the iPhone. So far absolutely no issues (as usual). Easy setup and great battery life!
