First, you can change the Sound Mode by going to Settings > Sound > Sound Mode.

I’ve had the tv for about 3 weeks now. Set up was super simple. The menu is easy to navigate and arrange to your liking. Great picture so long as what you’re watching isn’t dark. And that’s where this tv loses 2 stars. Dark movies are hard to watch even in a dark room. Which kind of takes a lot away from the enjoyment of the tv.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We are happy that you are enjoying your Samsung AU8000 TV. Please know that we are here to help and have a few suggestions that may improve the picture you see when watching dark movies.

First, I recommend using Dynamic Picture Mode, which makes pictures brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments. Go to Settings > Picture > Picture Mode > Dynamic.

Or you can manually adjust the Brightness, Contrast, and more. Press the HOME button on your remote, then navigate to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings.

You may also want to disable Power Saving Mode, which automatically adjusts the brightness to reduce the TV’s power consumption. Go to: Settings > General > Eco Solution> Power Saving Mode

Ambient Light Detection will also automatically adjust the brightness level of the TV according to the ambient light level to reduce power consumption. If Ambient Light Detection has adjusted the screen brightness to a too-bright or dark level, you can select Minimum Brightness to manually adjust the minimum screen brightness. Go to: Settings > General > Eco Solution > Ambient Light Detection.

Please also be sure you are running the latest firmware. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV: Settings > Support > Software Update.

Colors are good picture is sharp, free streaming!

I had one Samsung TV and I like it so much I bought another when lightning destroyed my Sony TV. I especially enjoy Samsung Streaming. There have a large number of entertaining channels that are free when using this product. It is easy to add apps such as Brit Box but many apps are already on it like Disney and Netflix so you only have to register the device with your streaming service. The colors are sharp and the controls are easy to figure out. The picture is sharp. Very pleased will buy this brand again for my daughter's room.

Needs a different remote

love the tv itself but the remote is junk. maybe it's that i'm used to the remote for our older series6 samsung, but this one is too small, has a wheel instead of up/down/left-right, and is generally not user friendly.

terrible dark scenes

the lighting/brightness is terrible. Dark scenes are just a black screen. doesn't seem to be a way to adjust anywhere. really bad on streaming.
