Have been Samsung user multiple times over last 10 years, disappointed in this particular model, sound very poor (solution added sound bar) and colors & definition not the quality expected. Looking into source but previous panel looked great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Shoals Sound,

Thank you for being such a loyal Samsung customer over the years! I'm sorry that you have been disappointed by the AU8000 TV. I have a few Setting adjustments that may improve your audio & visual experience.

You can select a Sound Mode that you prefer for a content type or your listening environment. Go to: Home > Settings > Sound > Sound Mode.

You can also customize balance and equalizer settings by going to Home > Settings > Sound > Expert Settings

Additionally, there are image adjustments you can make to optimize your picture to suit your preferences. Your TV has several Picture Modes to choose from, allowing you to enjoy content in optimal conditions. Go to Home > Settings > Picture > Picture Mode.

You can also go to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings to manually fine-tune your image.

For more help, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Not that great in a well lit room. I connect an Xbox and run all of my media through it. The TV doesn't make it a simple one step process. I have to select the covid or if the menu every time forcing two remotes

Hi Jason,

Thank you for your feedback on the AU8000 TV. It’s unfortunate to hear you’re not fully satisfied with the brightness of your TV’s picture. Please know that we are here to help you.

First, let’s ensure you are running the latest Firmware Update. Go to Settings> Support> Software Update.

Next, If the colors on your TV are correct but just a little too dark or bright, you can try adjusting Picture Modes, Contrast, Brightness, or Sharpness settings.

For darker scenes, I recommend Dynamic Picture Mode, which makes pictures brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments. Go to Settings > Picture > Picture Mode > Dynamic.

Or you can manually adjust the Brightness by pressing the HOME button on your remote, then navigating to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings.

You may also want to disable Power Saving Mode, which automatically adjusts the brightness to reduce the TV’s power consumption. Go to: Settings > General > Eco Solution> Power Saving Mode.

Ambient Light Detection will also automatically adjust the brightness level of the TV according to the ambient light level to reduce power consumption. If Ambient Light Detection has adjusted the screen brightness to a too-bright or dark level, you can select Minimum Brightness to manually adjust the minimum screen brightness. Go to: Settings > General > Eco Solution > Ambient Light Detection.

I hope this helps to improve your picture. Should you need further assistance, please contact us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Love most everything about this TV
on December 12, 2022
Posted by: llrussell
pros:
- picture is crystal clear. - it's flat and sits nicely on our wall.- it's not hard to learn how to use. - it has several nice features like favorites section on the main page. - would buy again.
cons:
- wish the home screen would not automatically start playing a tv show at the bottom when turn the tv on. my kids are young. i don't want them watching the news, yet often fox news will start playing at the bottom of the screen. - it won't let me save some apps to my favorites. it's a pain to search for them every time. - it doesn't always place nicely with netflix. - as with all smart tvs, there are some apps it doesn't support.
despite these cons, i'd still recommend the tv.

Where is the xbox app?
on December 13, 2022

I bought this tv on black friday specifically because this model was listed as one of the 2021 models that were supposed to get the xbox app when they rolled it out on December 6th.. as far as I have researched , and I have been relentlessly researching this, every other model on the list of compatable 2021 smart tvs now has the ability to have the xbox app. Why did they skip this one when it was clearly stated by samsung amount the models to get it? I tried to update firmware and it says I'm already running current firmware 1251 but on the support website it says it should have the 2111.1 update so I downloaded the update to a USB drive and tried to manually install it but it still says my tv is up to date.. that doesn't make since.. i hope I can return this tv so I can get one of the other 2021 models that got the update earlier this week. Any help would be much appreciated and would raise this to a five star review

It's Ok

I bought this about a month ago. I find the apps buggy and very slow in responding. I hooked my AppleTV [which I had planned to stop using] to HDMI 2 and use the apps on my AppleTV. The picture is clear and amazing. But only amazing for programs filmed/recorded to use the full ability of the t.v.

Hi shoe,

I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’re experiencing with unresponsive apps. To ensure performance is fully optimized, please ensure your TV is running the latest firmware. To do so, go to Settings> Support> Software Update. You can easily update from there if necessary.

Next, I recommend utilizing the self-diagnostic tool, which checks memory, frees unused cached memory, and closes background apps. Go to Settings > Support > Device Care > Start Device Care.

If you continue to have issues, you can try cold booting your TV by holding down the power button on your remote for 5+ sec until the TV turns off and completing a full reset of Smart Hub to correct the issue.

If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Poor sound on second TV
on December 13, 2022
Posted by: Unhappy AU8000
I bought the first Samsung 43" Class AU8000 on 6/29/2022 and was very happy with it.
When my Family Room TV went out I bought the exact same model on 11/17/2022.
I am 73 yrs old and try to keep technology as simple as possible. I thought I would not have to learn new menus etc.
It turns out the new TV has different menu and the biggest issue I have is the sound is
very poor. I have to crank up the volume. The Bedroom TV volume level is 9 and new TV in the family room has to go up to 35 in some channels. Same TV model happy with one and unhappy with the second one.

Hi Davechap4444,

Thank you for your loyalty to Samsung TVs and for letting us know about the issues you are experiencing with your AU8000 TV. I have a few recommendations which may help improve your experience.

There are several volume features you can adjust, which may improve your audio experience.

1) Auto Volume automatically adjusts the sound to a certain level when changing channels or switching to another external input. Go to Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Auto Volume.

2) Adaptive Sound automatically adjusts to a specific volume level while watching TV. The TV analyzes your volume usage history by time period to automatically adjust the volume when you use an app or switch to an external input source. Go to Settings> Sound> Sound Mode> Adaptive Sound.

3) Several Sound Modes are likewise available to meet your personal preferences: Home > Settings > Sound > Sound Mode

I also recommend you try a Sound Test under Support > Self Diagnosis > Start Sound Test. Another way to check the source volume is to test an internal streaming source like Netflix or YouTube to compare.

If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.
