Audio sucks

gret picture easy to use getting really tired of being blasted out of my chair by evey commercial, turn up volume to hear dialog on show then get blasted by commercials.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Please know, the AU8000 features a wide range of sound options allowing you to tune the audio to your liking. To help level the volume and avoid excessive volume increases, you may want to try enabling the Auto Volume setting.

Nagivate to Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Auto Volume

Additionally, the Adaptive Sound mode built in to your TV intelligently analyzes the sound and optimizes the output based on the content you are watching.

Glitch with streaming - possibly resolved

had the tv about a week and like it. however, it buffers all the streaming apps and sometimes drops them entirely. i can stream the same apps on my phone or ipad in the same room without a problem, so it's not my internet connection (which is verizon fios 1gb).
samsung saw my review and put me on to their support staff who recommended a cold boot (hold power button till tv goes off and comes on again). this seemed to fix it for now, though i won't know for sure till it works consistently over time. so far so good. will update any changes. pleased with tech support response, though.
I would recommend this to a friend!

we are very happy with this tv. it has an excellent picture and the features are awesome. it was able to pick up a number of local stations, off my old antenna, that i was previously unable to receive.

my 15 year old plasma started having issues so we opted for a new tv. the 50in au8000 crystal uhd smart tv picture is not as good as our old unit. the colors are not as "crisp" and they sometimes look "muddy" especially when viewed from the side.
this was not the case when we saw the tv in the store.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Your TV has several Picture Modes to choose from allowing you to enjoy content in optimal conditions. Go to Home > Settings > Picture > Picture Mode
1) Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments.
2) Natural: Reduces eye strain for a comfortable viewing experience.
3) Movie: Is suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room.
4) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments.
5) Filmmaker Mode: You can watch the source content (e.g., movie) as it is. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it will automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.

You can also go to: Settings > Picture > Expert Settings and configure the TV settings to your taste with additional functions.

my first foray into samsung tv's . i've always had their phones and tablets and been impressed with them but i am not impressed with their tv. first off the remote ! what on earth is this hunk of junk ??? oh it's all cute and small, but idiotic and simple in its operation, when it works. the 50 inch i got tv itself is average, for samsung to proclaim the crystal uhd is good over conventional hd tv's is just a flat out exaggeration. the quality of the picture is average at best!
this follows up after i bought the samsung 32 inch qled tv for my bedroom and took it back after a week because it was just so bad !
there ends my experiment with their tv's!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Crystal clear picture

my last tv was a 1080p picture quality and a 40”. i went with a 50” to fit a specific location. i regular game on my tvs. the picture quality, coloring and clarity are amazing. i am super happy with the purchase. it has enhanced my viewing and gaming experience.
