Sweet monitorZzz nothing better really at this price point or capable refresh rate….COULD HAVE A BETTER(louder; add a couple watts next time) speaker. Easy to use controls. It keeps on giving.
I was going to give this monitor a 5 star, but for some reason my unit, on HDMI at 240hz, turns off for a couple seconds and then turns back on a couple of minutes after I turn the screen on or I change the imput to this HDMI, I already tested with different cables, different computers, etc, and it's anoying because it only happens once, but in a random moment, after which it doesn't happen anymore unless the screen goes to sleep, and then happens again when the screen wakes up after a couple minutes, which is really anoying. I switched to displayport at 280hz and it doesn't happen, it also doesn't happen with HDMI at 120hz, it's only at 240hz HDMI
After proper setup, the monitor is good for what it's intended, but that takes a lot of effort (just read the very lengthy blurbusters threads) AND this monitor absolutely loves resetting to default hz. So you end up having to check that it's set to 240/280 hz before you launch games, or mysteriously find yourself locked at 85 fps wondering why your game feels so terrible. This can happen randomly, while you're on the desktop, browsing or whatever. On top of that, if you turn it off, it's like you unplugged it from your GPU, which is not a huge deal but does make some of my applications prompt me about hardware changes, and my desktop icons shuffle around, etc. So yeah, potential to be five star, but unfortunately Asus kind of dropped the ball on the average user's experience.
