Good manual espresso machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m impressed how this DeLonghi La Specialista Maestro manual espresso machine can extract oils better from the same coffee beans than my superautomatic machine or moka pot can. There is a noticeable improvement in crema and body, which I really enjoy! I like that this espresso machine is easy enough to use on a busy morning. The key is to experiment with coffee beans on slower days to perfect the dose, grind, temperature, and pressure to get the optimal extraction. Once figured out, write down the preferred settings if you like to switch up beans like I do. I like that this machine starts up quickly, makes little mess, and is easy to clean up after. I’m really impressed with the aesthetics of the machine. The gauges and finish are really eye catching. The matte and shiny metal, as well as the glossy black trim make for a really sleek appearance. I wish the portafilter was easier to line up in the brewing station; it takes more precision and force than I’d prefer early in the morning. I wish the height of the machine was a touch shorter. The bean hopper does not clear my standard height kitchen cabinets. The water tank in the back can be difficult to fill all the way. I had best results filling about ¾. For me, the quality of coffee extracted overrides this machines short comings. The DeLonghi La Specialista Maestro is a good option for a manual espresso machine.
Once you learn how to use he machine ... It is incredibly easy to use. My husband says it is well worth the cost. Well built, solid, good looking machine ( as machines go! ;D)

Great Coffee Drinks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, this machine makes great coffee beverages. It does a little practice to get your temperature, dose, and grind level just right for your favorite beans, but once you dial it in it works like a champ. The controls are easy and the process to use the machine is clearly outlined in the manual. After about six test runs, I was able to dial in with my favorite whole bean coffee and it has churned out some delicious beverages every morning since. My only complaint is about the water tank design. Due to it's location and how it comes off, it does not work well on the countertop under the cabinets. The machine has to be moved in order to easily take the water tank out to fill it. The other issue is that the lit gets in the way of filling from our filtered water from our refrigerator. It can only can be filled 75% of the way before it starts spilling out due to the angle it has to be held at. Overall this is a great machine. The setup was exceptionally easy and the instructions are clear and easy to understand.

BEAUTIFUL MACHINE!

I have written a review yesterday, but I don't see it on your page. I guess you didn't want another negative review. My complaint was like a few others made. It does NOT make a good cappuccino because the auto frothing does NOT work. This is my number 3 machine and my last because I'm taking it back for the last time. In the morning I want a nice CAPPUCCINO not all this aggravation because it does not do what it supposed to do.

BEAUTIFUL MACHINE!

Bought 3 of them and took them all back! If you want cappuccino, this is NOT the machine for you! Don't believe the hype, it does NOT froth the milk well, and since I'm a CAPPUCCINO lover I was disappointed. If you want an outstanding machine, get the De'Longhi ELETTA EXPLORE. All automatic. Works like a charm. Not as pretty as the MAESTRO, but way better!

This was a replacement for a unit 7+ years old that was high end machine. I did now want to spend same amount of money to replace, thinking 7 years of development new machine would be of equal quality. Unfortunately I was wrong. Machine is decent but quality of espresso just wasn’t that great compared to what I was used too. I went through half pound of bean just to get a decent pull. Unfortunately the 21mm portafilter just doesn’t deliver a quality shot compared to my prior 58mm portafilter. The frother is decent and very convenient but I prefer the control of a manual machine and the manual frothing just wasn’t up to par of higher end machine. Good machine for starters and for price range but once used to a higher quality this is disappointing. I have returned after a week.
