My old router was really old so my research showed ASUS was the way to go. Cost for a mesh router was more but well worth it. Connectivity and bitrate is awesome. Installation was easy and painless. Many options if needed are easy accessible and changeable through the phone app. Very pleased.

This is a replacement for my router that died a day earlier. Set up was a breeze. Had the system up and running quickly then it did a update. Range and speed is better than my old router. I do miss all the status lights (yes geeky).

I found this system to be very easy to install and reliable with WiFi. However, I have had an issue that cannot be resolved by tech support or by replacing the units. The LAN ports on all of the units I have had (4) will not work! So I'm just using WiFi and thankfully it is fairly fast but I would like to use ethernet for some connections to my home entertainment set up. My research indicates this may be a know problem connected to firmware.

I bought the ASUS system to replace a single Netgear router. The old router worked well enough in the house until recently but seemed to be failing as we added more and more devices. Our new roku cable boxes would frequently stall. There were dead spots, and the signal never extended more than a couple yards from the house.
The ASUS system as advertised would cover more area than we need and that was what I wanted. It was a breeze to set up. I had it going, and most devices reconnected within about a half hour. All the problems disappeared. No dead spots; no circle of death as we try to watch a recorded show; a clear strong signal all the way out to the edge of our property.
I can't imagine going back.

I have been in the IT field since 1967. I dealt with IBM main frames and card punch machines. My first personal connection was a 50 baud acoustic modem paired to my home phone. As things got progressively more sophisticated it oft times got far more difficult. When I purchased the ZenWiFi AX (XT8) to improve my network I dreaded hooking everything up. It turned out to be possibly the easiest network set-up in all my years in the field. I am even more impressed with the overall speed of the network throughout the entire house. My 4K TV nows gets the needed speed to give me 4K viewing. My wife especially loves the small box with no antennas that sits unobtrusively on the kitchen sink behind a cookie jar. I cannot see how it can be improved.

Nodes started out with white lights and good internet coverage from everywhere. Satellite node's light turned yellow indicating a weak signal after about three months of use without moving any equipment. Restarted everything and it remains yellow. I don't notice any difference in functionality but I do think it's odd all lights were white until about the three-month mark.
