I have many gas chainsaws. Got this electric one for light limbing and pleasantly surprised at how good it works. I used it for fifteen minutes and it cut well

I am Pleased with the saw but not how I received it. Oiled it up and started cutting. On about the 3rd limb the chain comes off. Looked around and the back nut holding the bar on was almost 1/2 unscrewed. Looked for the chainsaw wrench and did not come with one. How cheap is that. Luckily it did no damage and no one got hurt. Put everything back together and cut fine. You would think quality control would check that and you would think a chainsaw would come with a wrench. Disappointed in GreenWorks.

Hello NStratton
Thank you for your feedback! Sorry to hear that the unit is performing to your expectations. The more you use a chain the longer it becomes. It is important to adjust the chain regularly to take up the slack. Tension the chain so that it can only just be pulled away from the bar at its center point. Chains stretch with use. When new, they stretch more. The tension on a new or newish chain should be checked and tightened every 20 minutes of cutting or so, it can get away from you fast. This is normal stretching. Please note, it is not necessary to remove the chain cover to adjust the chain tension. Should you still require further assistance, we would be interested in hearing more about this issue. Please submit an email using the customer contact page on our website or give us a call at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS). All we ask that you have access to the unit so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information.

I love this chainsaw! I already had 2 80v batteries, as I have a Greenworks snow thrower, which I love also. So ordering the tool only, was perfect for me. I am a 65 year old female, 5'1", and 100 lbs. This chainsaw is light enough that I can use it with ease. No gas to mix, and no struggling with a pull cord to get is started. I have cut logs up to 8", with no problem. The 18" blade is a big plus also. All around a great tool to have! I love my Greenworks products!

I have used it once and so far it is everything as advertised. Note that it would also have to be exceptional for a 5 Star rating and I don't have enough information yet.

Don’t be fooled by its size. This is a compact power house. Strong cutting capacity which is equal to if not surpasses some compatible gas chainsaws. 80 V all the way.
