The chainsaw worked great right out of the box so I headed out to our forest to take down a dead fir tree. Needed to adjust the chain tension but that was simple to do.

I have always used gas powered chainsaws in the past and am thoroughly impressed by the performance of this product

I bought this chainsaw several weeks ago and it has been great! Uses the same battery as my other GreenWorks tools through a 10" diameter log with ease. Love the fact that I don't have to deal with gas and oil anymore (except chain oil). So far the cutting will last past the time it takes to charge my second battery.

Best chainsaw I've ever owned.

We live and operate a business in the Pacific Northwest. We have a lot of trees on both our home and office properties. Every winter, there are storms that knock down some trees or cause limbs to fall, creating dangerous situations.
Needless to say, having a good saw is vital to live and work here. I've personally owned seven saws over my fifty-some years of living and working here; this is by far the best saw I've ever had.
Why?
1) It always starts and runs. Always. Every time. No repeat-pulls, no flooded cylinders, no clogged fuel filters. It just runs. Consistently.
2) 'Winterizing' (or, in our case, Summer-izing)? Easy. Clean it, keep it lubricated, sharpen the chain periodically. That's it. Next season, it works as it did last season.
3) Torque. Nice thing about electric motors - the torque band is flat. No matter how fast or slow I run it, it always provides the same angular force to the spindle. Starting a cut, continuing a cut, ending a cut. No big. Stops instantly. Super-safe.
4) QUIET. I was cutting firewood in the back yard, and my wife didn't even know I was outside. That's what I'm talking about. I can use it at midnight and no complaints from the neighbors.
5) Weight. Even with a 4A·h battery, it's lighter than the Kioritz gas-chainsaw that it replaced. Well, didn't actually replace - I still have the Kioritz, I just winterized it and put it away and I never took it back out again. That was three years ago. If this one ever breaks, I might use it again - but I'm not holding my breath.
So, that's it, in a nutshell. Love this saw. You may be able to pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

This chainsaw is amazing. I own both a 16" Stihl and a 16" Homelite Chainsaw. This battery powered Greenworks is as powerful if not more powerful as both of those gas powered. The convenience of no gas and oil mixture to carry around and spill and pull starting just makes this the best buy I have ever made. I recommend this 80V chainsaw to everyone.

I am 72,this is my 4th 80v tool. No longer am I tugging a gas can or pulling a cord with hope the saw will turn over. It`s lighter than a gas machine, quieter, does not smell, and the safety features are well thought out. With 2 batteries I have a term limit of use, but that `s ok because I don`t mind resting between charges. This machine keeps me active and doing something positive. I love it as I do all my Greenworks machines. Sincerely, Bill

I love the ease-of-use of electric. I don't use a chainsaw very much, but when I need it, I really need it (think hurricanes). So not having to clean the carburetor because I forgot to run the gas out, or change a fowled spark plug, is a big deal. To just grab it once every 3 months, glance at the chain oil level (visible through clear tank), press the power button, and GO, and have it work instantly, is magical. Plus it has plenty of torque to do the job. And with two 80 volt batteries (which I also use on my other electric tools), I always have enough power. The motor is louder than I thought it would be, but still quieter than gas equivalent saws. Also, it is hugely less polluting than gas.

Good saw- good power, gets through thick trunks and logs. Large bar oil tank, so don't need to refill too often. I like the wrench that's included in the bottom of the handle! Good price too if you already have the 80v battery and charger. Only complaint is the chain seems to fall off after 15 minutes or so of use, don't know if that's because I have the chain too loose/or tight, or the work I'm doing, but the onboard wrench helps to fix it. Overall, I would recommend this purchase. Seem like one of the more powerful battery chainsaws on the market today.
