[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thatcher is amazing, removed all the moss and thatch from my entire yard (.25 acres) and the moss was thick this year.

I bought the Greenworks Dethatcher in 2019 and have used it once a year on my 8,000 sq ft lawn. The first few years I would use it on the shallow setting, and have adjusted it to the deepest setting for the past 2 years. It has really made a difference in my lawn's heath, and I now have to rake up about half as much thatch compared to what was dethatched the first few years. After 5 years now, it's time to replace the tines. Love this dethatcher.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This worked even better than I expected. No issues setting up or using. I needed to thatch, but also wanted to prep for overseeding. This worked perfectly to allow the seeds to fall into the dirt instead of thatch. So happy that I now have this in my garage to use whenever needed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is perfect for removing the dead grass from your lawn without severe damage to the live grass. I made two passes in a cross pattern and pulled 2 large trash cans of dead grass from approximately 6k square feet of lawn. Using 100ft of 12 gauge extension cord this machine tackled the job with no problem. Dealing with cord management is a bit of a pain but manageable. It's well built and for the cost it's well worth it. Using a thatch rake would do more damage to the lawn and take a ridiculous amount of time so I can easily recommend this tool. It's also lightweight and easy to maneuver which I appreciate.

5 years of ownership. I have used this atleast 10 times. The very first time I used it, there must have been 5 brown bags of thatch and the lawn looked thin out. I dethatch twice a year now and the lawn looks great. First time I had 5 brown bags full, now I get about 2 a year. As far as durability. The machine will rattle itself apart. There is a rubber flap with 2 wing nuts. They will rattle loose and fall out. I think the machine works better with out the flap. Thatch can build up in the machine and get thrown back down in with the flap. With out it, the machine just spits it right out the back on top of the lawn. Also, at the bottom of the white handle near the green machine, there is a black block. There is a 2" sheet metal screw threw the white handle and that black block into the green machine housing. Over time the vibrations of the machine and movement of the handle will cause that screw to break. So keep an eye out when that black block falls out.

When it first came, I looked at it and thought, I had just bought another worthless piece of junk! I was wrong!!! This machine did everything and more that it was supposed too! Lightweight, easy as could be to assemble! More than enough power to rip thru worst of thatch buildup! I had a moss and thatch layer, that was over an 1" thick (looked like a shag rug from the 70's)! It ripped thru it like a hot knife thru butter! I have never been more satisfied with an American made product in my life!!
I would recommend this to a friend!
