We purchased a house last fall. The lawn was full of thatch and moss. I tried a thatching blade on the mower which did an ok job. My son sent me a video of this thatcher. I purchased it and was surprised how well it worked. Because of the amount of thatch I had to move slowly or it would bog down. When done I removed 10-12 large wheelbarrows of thatch. I'm giving the lawn a couple weeks to recover and will do it again as there is still more thatch to be removed. Nice little machine that did a great job. I would suggest larger wheels as it got stuck in holes, also an adjustable handle height. I'm all of 5'4" and the handle came up to my chest.

If you're tired of raking dead grass, I strongly recommend this dethatcher. After making 4-5 passes on a particularly dead portion of my lawn, I collected 10, 30 gallon, yard waste bags full of glass. The dethatcher moves along the lawn with relative ease. The height adjustments are intuitive. Comes with replacement tines. Overall works very well and it's a nice piece of equipment with a reasonable price point.
Cons: you need a lengthy extension cord that you will be working around during your job. Minor inconvenience..

I had a lot of thatch and small leaves stuck in my St Augustine grass. This cleaned it all up. Can't wait for the grass to start filling in with new runners

This little tool is amazing. Prior to purchasing this I rented a scarifier from a hardware store because my lawn (almost an acre) was more thatch and moss than lawn. It did okay, but it was incredibly heavy and loud!
I was able to purchase the dethatcher for the price of that rental and it was so much easier to use and removed the same (if not more) than the professional gas powered one. I hesitate to use the word "fun" but seeing how much thatch this was able to remove from my lawn while being 10% of the weight and 5X the maneuverability was fun.
My only issue is that I have not figured out a way to effectively use a cord as long as I need (100') without getting bunched up, but that has nothing to do with the machine itself. I highly recommend it, and if you have a smaller yard this will be the only tool you need to dethatch and you'll be amazed at how much you are able to remove.

I bought a house with a small front yard of zoysia grass that had not been cared for in several years, hence a build up of thatch. Even at age 88 I was able, with this wonder machine to fill 3 33 gal trash bags of thatch. My young neighbor was so impressed, he asked to borrow it the nex day. My lawn has vastly improved, thanks to the necessary removal of years of thatch.

This dethatcher worked wonders not only in my yard, but also my in-laws. I told my father in law how great and time saving it was and let him borrow it. Both houses were dethatched in about 45mins per house front and back. I would 100% recommend this item!
