[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tool was fine where my St Augustine grass was thin. Where it was green grass it just either bogged down and skinned it or just spun it’s wheels.

Hello Buff, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your experience with the dethacher. The first step in dethatching your lawn is to mow the grass so it sits at a height slightly lower than its usual length. Remember that thatch sits below the green, healthy grass and sits just on top of the soil line. Try to mow your grass to around 1.5 inches for cool-season grass and as low as ¾ inch for warm-season grass. Any grass that sits at 2 inches and above will likely make it difficult to dethatch as the blades on your dethatcher might not penetrate deep enough. Remember the one-third rule! Never take off more than one-third of the grass leaves in one mow. We hope this tips helps with the issue mentioned. If you are still experiencing an issue with the unit, please contact please contact us directly through chatbot on www.greenworkstools.com that will direct you to a live agent or call Greenworks toll-free helpline at 1-888-909-6757. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A little hard to push on grass with the small rear wheels, but otherwise works great so far!

Hello Weeeeeee,
Thank you for the feedback. Depending on the condition of the ground it can be challenging to maneuver. The best time to dethatch your lawn is when it's actively growing and the soil is moderately moist. For cool-season grasses, that's early spring or early fall. For warm-season grasses, dethatch in late spring through early summer (after the second mowing). That's when your grass is growing most vigorously. We recommend mowing your lawn to half its normal height before you begin dethatching. If after trying this suggestion and it does not yield results please contact us directly through chatbot on www.greenworkstools.com that will direct you to a live agent or call us at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS). We would like the opportunity to speak with you to see if we can find a solution.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my house 3 years ago and the lawn wasn't well maintained. I used to manually thatch my previous lawn so I thought this would help. I thought I'd have more thatch but it cleaned up my lawn a bit so I could fertilize. I did it in the spring after two mows so the lawn could soak up the rains in Illinois. So far so good.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent light duty dethatcher. Took me a minute to get used to the cord but overall it worked great. Helped pull out old grass and green up the yard. Easy to maneuver once you get the hang of it. Would recommend.
