I was concerned over the power and ease of use. It is VERY powerful. No problems at all. And it moves over the lawn with the same effort as my lawn mower. And it really gets the thatch out. I did two passes and got a ton of thatch out. Bonus: it "scratched" the surface so that I needed no additional lawn prep for reseeding. I whole heartedly recommend the new model (the one without height adjustment). The lack of a height adjustment was not an issue for me.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and recently used on my 12,000 sq. ft lawn. The results were amazing. In the past I always used gas dethatchers. I am sold on the DT14B00. The tines still looked like new when I was done. Also, the product never overheated. It did take a few minutes to figure out how to manipulate the 100 ft. cord I was using, but not a issue.

I highly recommend this tool. I bought this 2 years ago for power raking small, hard leaves and acorns. It worked great. Normally taking 3 hires to rake front yard now takes 45 min to rake and mow vac the yard. THANKS GREENWORKS !!!!!

I had originally tried to order the Greenworks dethatcher model that had adjustable height, but every source I tried showed it was out of stock or not available and so I ordered this model. It was easy to use and did a great job of dethatching my lawn. I have lived at my home for 20 years and had never dethatched the lawn. It pulled up lots of thatch that filled my bins when I later gathered the thatch. As with any electric product, you do have to anticipate moving the cord as you move around the yard. I had anticipated that but I still ordered it because I prefer electric over battery (which is not environmentally good as too many rechargeable batteries end up in where they shouldn't) and gas powered has the potential of not starting or negatively impacting the environment as well. That's why I have electric leaf blower, weed eater, etc. I plan to use the dethatcher next spring and maybe annually as well moving forward.

I bout the greenworks dethatcher a month ago and can say it would work a lot better if you can adjust the height of the tines. Also the tunes should be a stronger gauge or material even if it increases the cost
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello NinoBrown ,
We apologize that you're feeling slightly let down by the 14-Inch Corded Dethatcher. After many years of reviews and hearing customer feedback on the previous versions, users were setting the height from the start/out of the box and never readjusting at all, the original had a difference of a ¼-inch. So when it was redesigned we decided to use the optimal height setting as a standard. Hope this information was helpful, if you have any follow up questions or concerns, we welcome you to contact us at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS).
