Comfortable and easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This IPL device is nice. It automatically detects skin tone so it can determine how much light to apply (mine is in a medium range according to the device, and indeed I have medium skin tone and dark brown hair). It didn't hurt or anything, it's just like a hot flash in the skin. And it is kind of nice that you can glide it through the skin if you want to apply it to a larger area (like the legs). I've been using it for 2 weeks only so I can't really tell how well it is working. But I have so much hair that I will probably need the full 12 weeks of treatment to notice a big difference. I like that you can remove the hair with any method (my previous device would only work with shaving), and you don't have to buy any replacement parts (lamps, lotions, gels, nothing). The only "problem" is that there's no shut off button - in order to turn off the unit, you have to unplug it from the wall. Other than that, it seems perfect!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this for a short time on my underarms. I have thick, dark hair and pale skin, which I believe is ideal for laser hair removal. I highly recommend this product. I was skeptical at first. It is a bit of a sting, but not bad at all. It's totally worth it. I work out and wear tank tops and shaving my underarms gets real old all year long! I hope this will be a thing of the past after using my Braun Silk Expert Pro for a period of time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the Braun IPL silk expert pro 5 for about a month now. I've been careful to use it once a week for that initial phase. Some of the areas in treating I had professional laser years ago for, and it required slight touch ups (arms, legs, underarms). Other areas I never treated (or it didn't work), such as face, and back of thighs. I waited the full 4 weeks because I wanted to give this a real chance. I have to say that I'm overall satisfied. My arms and legs are smooth and I see very little (if any) regrowth. The face - I was blown away by. I actually started treating the face only 2 weeks ago because I was scared it would grow back worse (I had this happen once in a professional setting as well as with another at-home device a while back so I had stopped). But I'm happy to say that my upper lip in particular is almost completely smooth. I'm blown away! As for the device itself, I really appreciate all the extra safety and comfort measures such as the constant skin tone detector as well as the gentle setting. I haven't needed to use the gentle setting yet because the pain is either minimal or tolerable depending on what area you're treating. I do think it takes longer than expected to treat each area. You definitely need to give it a little break when in gliding mode as the device can get a little hot after a while. But the payoff is well worth it. I'm beyond excited to have found such a cutting edge device that performs so well and I'm BEYOND thrilled to have found a seemingly permanent solution to getting rid of embarrassing facial hair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first time I tried IPL Hair Removal System and I must say I loved the results in just about three treatments. I love this product, it is really simple to use and I was surprised how quickly it gets work done. I went through the manual before using it. Firstly you must shave all visible hair from the area you want to treat and the skin must be clean & dry. I tried this on my one leg and one underarm first so that I could see the difference side by side. I have seen a noticeable difference in just about three treatments which are about a 40-50% decrease in hair density. You need to repeat the process every week and you should start seeing the noticeable results in just after 3-4 sessions. After the third week, I have noticed that the hair growth on that leg and underarm was slower and hair is getting finer with some bald patches. So far I am very happy with the results. Initially, I was thinking it to be a painful process but it was not at all painful and all I felt is a light sting. I love that I can control the level of intensity on my skin as my own preferences. I use the standard-setting on my leg and gentle setting in my underarm area. This can now really save me time and money & there is no need to go to a salon for waxing and spend dollars. It comes with a razor, additional precision head (to tackle the smaller areas like face, bikini area, etc) & a pouch to keep all the stuff together. I am glad I got this and will continue to use this in other areas to get the best results. It is pricey but the end result is worth the money. I am very happy with the comfort of this machine and its overall results in such a short time. This is one of the best products I've used for myself. Highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Why was this Braun Silk Expert Pro 5 PL5137 IPL not in my life a long time ago?! This is a well-made, high quality IPL device that works great. After reading the instructions carefully, I shaved my legs and dried them before using the IPL. I'm not going to lie, I was a tiny bit nervous at first! I wasn't really sure if this would be painful because why else would there be a "gentle" and "extra gentle" mode to choose from! So, when I pressed the button, I did jump a little and scream, but only because I was so terrified and it startled me when the flash went off! As far as any pain, there isn't any. I only felt a warm sensation. I have very light skin with dark brown hair, so the sensor most likely self-adjusted and used a lower power. And keep in mind, everyone experiences pain differently!
The setup was simple; plug in,, hold against treatment area, and press the only button. Super easy! I have used this on both legs for 6 weeks now, which is once per week. The recommended course is 12 weekly treatments, so I'm half way there. Even at this point, I can already see a significant decrease in the amount and rate of hair regrowth.
As far as value, you will save so much money in the long run because you won't be spending money on razors, shave cream, or professional hair removal services. You'll also save your precious time, too, because you will have to shave less often! If you have always been curious about IPL devices, you should definitely run to the store for the Braun Silk Expert Pro 5 PL5137 IPL!

Amazing Results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a much cheaper option as opposed to getting my hair professionally removed. It stings a little bit, but it's worth it for smooth legs. It's much better than waxing or using harmful chemicals to remove hair. This product has saved me time shaving and helps me avoid ingrown hairs. The results have been great!

This braun pro 5 is so simple to use and the carrying case is amazing! I had no irritation or redness at all after use. I can't wait each week to see some great results. I would definitely recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had my doubts about the Braun US - NEW Silk·expert Pro 5 IPL with Wide Cap and 2 Precision Caps At-home Alternative to Laser Hair Removal, but i have been using it for a bit now and it's working amazingly well. It is not leaving any marks on my skin and it doesn't burn/hurt using it at all. I can't wait to toss out my razors for good!
