Best purchase EVER!

I also have PCOS and have struggled with excess hair growth all my life. I’ve tried far too many treatments and nothing really helped, till NOW. This was money incredibly well spent! I have thick hair to begin with, and lots of it. Trust me if you are on the fence just BUY it. You will ❤️ the way you feel!

Bought this 8 weeks ago, and it is changing my life. I'm basically hairless where I want to be and I could not be happier! I have very light skin and very dark hair, a lot of it...and within 3 weeks of use in each area I had almost no hair growing. The bikini line is coarser so it's taken about 4-5 weeks but after the 2nd week there was no after-shaving-burn!!! IYKYK. I have a lot of moles/spots all over my legs too, and it was easy to go around them and not fry them off by accident. I recc starting with the lightest/most gentle setting at first to get used to it and upping it 1 level each time you do it as feels good to you. DO yourself a favor and get some eye protection, too. It's fine without it but t is a bright flash and if you're eyes are sensitive as mine are, you'll be happy to have the glasses. And the microfiber cloth that comes with said glasses is great for cleaning the head of the IPL after each use, too ;)

I have very sparse and patchy leg hair, but pretty bad growth in my underarm. I hate shaving because I always miss spots which is very annoying.
I've tried alot of things, but the constant upkeep and maintenance of threading, waxing, and shaving is just too much. I decided to splurge and get the Braun silk expert after ALOT of researching, watching youtube reviews and cross comparison to other IPL's. I didn't want to take the chance on a no-name brand or anything made overseas.

The Braun did take a little longer to ship, but was very well packaged. I love the gorgeous zip container it comes in. The zipper is sturdy and made of metal and not cheap plastic. It is very easy to use, simply plug in, choose the suitable head and zap away. It does feel like a little rubber band snapping against your skin, but you really get used to it. I do recommend shaving (the included razor is great!). If you don't you will get the smell of singed hair during the process but that is the only difference I noticed between using with or without shaving. I'll put on a short TV show or binge on Youtube and zap away.
Now the results. I've been using this once a week for 3 weeks. There is VERY little re-growth. My underarm hair barely is there, and the ones that are comes out super easy with a tweezer. Before, they would cling to the follicle for dear life and I would be so determined to get them out that I would end up scarring myself or getting in grown hair.
For my hair type, I don't think extended use is necessary, but that is going to be different for everyone. The only downside is I wish this included sunglasses. The instructions say the light is safe without one, but it is extremely bright so I either look away, close my eyes or use a pair of very dark shades when I use this.
I've recommended this to everyone I know Yes it is an investment, but the number of uses you get in return and the results are worth it in my opinion.

I bought this product about a year ago and have been using it religiously and exactly according to the instructions. The effect is real! My legs are clean and smooth everyday of the month and I don't have to worry about shaving everyday or waxing every two weeks. The same is true about my underarms. This device has made my life much easier and is saving me a lot of time that I can spend on more useful activities than waxing! Braun customer service is great too! After some time, the precision head of my device was cracked without even being used. I contacted the customer service and they immediately sent me a new head. I 100% recommend this product.

It reduces/removes unwanted dark hair!

I have waited to write this review since I bought this last year in 2021. I had low testosterone and went on pellets which really brought out the lovely dark Hispanic hair on my face (especially around my sideburns, lip, chin, and under my chin). I started out by using the Silk Expert Pro 5 every week for the 12 weeks it says to do it. I think I made to week 4 and then started to use it as needed. This thing has been a life saver at removing and reducing my dark hair! It has also saved me so much money. My mother has been doing laser hair removal at laser center and has paid more for her set of sessions than I have in purchasing this. I am now in just touch up mode as I see some spots of dark hair on my face and legs. Overall this purchase has been the best one I have ever made.

I have been so hesitant to buy an at home ipl device because I didn’t believe it would actually work as promised and they are pretty expensive. I did laser hair removal for my underarms and bikini area when I was younger, but after many years and after hormone changes with having kids, new hair grew back. Reading through the reviews of most of the other devices on the market is pretty discouraging. So, when I started reading the reviews for the Venus Silk Expert, I was pretty impressed. Most women reviewed it at 4 stars or higher. I am an ideal candidate for laser hair removal with fair skin and brown hair. I decided to take the plunge and give it a shot. So, as far as using the device, it is fairly intuitive. Turn it on, place it on your skin, and press the button until it flashes. You can feel a slight twinge with some hair follicles. It is occasionally uncomfortable, but I would say more comfortable than tweezing. It gets a little warm and at least the first time I could smell a slight burned hair odor. I would recommend Braun provides glasses. The light is pretty intense (even with the device fully pressed against your skin). I have been closing my eyes during the flash. The first week I didn’t really notice any difference. Last week was my second week and I’ve noticed that as the hair in my bikini area grows out, it is falling out. Sweet! I have not noticed a difference yet on my legs or underarms, but they recommend 12 weeks of treatment so I’m pretty excited to see a difference in only 2 weeks!

I have always had thick course leg hair that needed shaving EVERYDAY. I’ve put up with it until recently when I noticed that I started growing a mustache and chin hairs!!! Apparently for me this is a part of peri-menopause... I asked for this IPL as an anniversary gift from my husband. I have used this every week for 7 weeks and I already can tell a HUGE difference. There is hardly any hair! I’m only shaving once a week now on the night that I laser. This is the best gift. I feel so confident!

I have been using this since April every other week. i can say i am almost hair free on my legs, Anyone looking to stop shaving. this is IT. it works!!!
