[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Gillette Venus Silk-Expert from Braun in exchange for my honest product review.
I have to admit the instruction booklet was a little cumbersome but I respect the need for detailed instructions. I have paid for lazer treatments before on my bikini line as well as legs and it's not cheap. I was super excited to try this out as a much cheaper option. While I will not see results for some time, I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to use. I have only tried it on my legs but I found there to be no pain and it goes very quick. I look forward to seeing the results and using it in other areas

Worth the momey

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to get this IPL to try. They are an expensive investment. I feel this product is worth the money if you consistently follow the directions. It takes a little bit of time in the beginning but it saves sooo much time ultimately.
You can use the continuous pulse to steadily go down your legs, which in my opinion is a much easier. It's a great benefit.
I have this stubborn hair under my chin. After using the IPL on it, it has disappeared.
I own another IPL so I can compare it to my other one, and this wins hands down. I was very excited that I would not have to change cartridges. It NEVER has to be changed! EVER!?!
I received the product for free from Braun to test and give my honest opinion.

My first impression

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Gillette Venus Silk-Expert just before a trip, but didn't have time to try it until we returned from our trip. Woke up this morning, prepped my underarms and plugged in the Gillette Venus Silk-Expert. I took a bit of time to refresh myself about how to do it and started the treatment.
For those that are concerned that treatment will hurt, I'd like to assuage your fears! It was actually kind of pleasant-creating a gentle warmth with each flash. There was a bit of an odor, similar to singed hair, but no discomfort.
Treatment couldn't be easier!
Because this is just an initial impression, I intend to do touch up reviews every week or so as I add more treatment areas, touch up areas, refine treatment, etc.
Depending on side effects, right now, I'm leaning towards giving the Gillette Venus Silk-Expert 4 stars, but will need more time/experience before I can give a true rating.

Pretty Impressed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I initially thought this product would not work that great. However, I am pretty impressed with the results. I have used this product for 3 weeks so far and have already seen a difference in certain areas. I have used this on my bikini line, legs, arms, hands, knuckles, and underarms. The hair on my arms grows in a lot slower and not as noticeable as before. My hands and knuckles have seen the same results. I previously removed my underarm hair with laser removal, but there were a few strands that still grow out so I have been using it on that. I can't really tell yet if that has improved or not. I am also unable to tell what it is doing for my leg hair. Some spots still grow out quickly, but I could be missing some spots. I have been most impressed with the results from my bikini line. The hair there normally grows back really quickly. I have seen pretty quick results and don't have to shave as often already. I can't wait to see the results at 12 weeks.

Salon at home quality

Many years ago I went to the salon to get my laser hair removal treatments. But life and two kids have made it almost impossible to find the time to get back to it. I am in love with the notion that I can now do it from home with the Silk Expert from Gillette Venus. This is the most amazing product. It's light weight enough to use with one hand when doing my arms yet sturdy enough that it feels like a quality product. I used this now on my arms, my face and my under arms. Because I am familiar with laser treatments it did not hurt but stung rather which actually told me that it was working. I'm excited to continue my weekly treatments. I will be able to continue treatments under my arms and have all this dark hair go away. In some spots on my arm I could tell where I did not remove all the hair because it stung more in those areas. I could also smell hair burning a tiny bit. Nothing major. The hair has to be completely removed. That's why is stings under my arms the most. I have thick dark hair.

still not sold

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to take as much time as possible trying the Gillette Venus Silk expert device before writing my review. I was so excited when I heard about this campaign! Hair removal is such a big part of my life and I am forever waxing, shaving and lasering and anything that can reduce the time taken up in my life but those three things is very welcomed. I have been using the device now for four weeks and I haven't really seen a huge difference. I was really wishing I'd see more of a result and I have been very diligent about keeping the schedule. The app has been very helpful though in keeping track. Maybe my hair is just very stubborn and others will have more of a result. I will not give up though, I am still going to continue the treatments and hope for the best.

A small but noticable difference

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have now used my Venus Silk-expert 4 weekends in a row. I have the whole process down pat now, so it only takes about 30 minutes total from shower to finishing up the treatment on my underarms, stomach and legs. I don't shave at all during the week, so what I shave off on the weekend is a week's worth of growth. I have noticed that, although small, there is definitely a difference in the amount of hair that is growing back. I would say it's perhaps a 10-15% reduction in hair growth, and the hair that is growing back seems a bit finer in texture as well. This is a great sign! I look forward to the results that I will see at the end of the 12 week treatment.

Second check in and so far, so good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I've used this product four times so far and I'm seeing results. Hair is still growing back but it is growing back lighter. I have very pale skin and dark brown hair so I know that I'm a good candidate for this process so I was hoping to see more results quicker but I definitely can tell that I have less hair growth than I once did. I have to say, that I was hoping that with each use, the pain in using the product would be less but it's really equal. It's not a horrible pain, (I've had professional laser hair removal before in other spots and the pain was much worse), but I do feel uncomfortable during the procedure although as soon as I stop, the pain is over so it's not a lasting feeling. I will continue the use because I do enjoy the less hair growing back but at this point, I'm not 100% sure if I'll be able to get to the point that I completely don't have any hair.
