Reduction of hair!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Venus Silk-expert IPL is so easy to use. I am able to complete both legs and underarms in under 15 min. For reduction in hair, 15 min a week is no big deal. After 5 weeks of using the product I have noticed a significant reduction in the amount of hair on my legs and underarms. I don't feel like I need to shave as often as I did before using the product. I am confident that if I continue to use Venus Silk-expert IPL, I will see ever more reduction in the amount of hair. With summer coming I'm excited about the idea of fewer shaves!!!

Amazing hair removal!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very skeptical about the Venus Silk Expert. Somehow I kept thinking of the epilady I tried as a teen and still have nightmares about! At first I wasn't sure I was really doing anything because there was no pain or immediate results but after the 3 time I used it, I really started to notice the hair on my legs was much finer. By the fifth time, I really could see a difference and there was no hair left! Although the process takes time, only having to do it so infrequently more than makes up for it.
I the summer I run a day camp so I'm in a bathing suit everyday. In years past, I have had to shave every morning which is a pain and often get razor irritation. This summer Venus Silk Expert will be a game changer! My athletic daughter was so impressed with my results, she started using it too!

Very easy to use, but it hurt

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried it out after shaving this morning. The setup was super easy. Basically, you take everything out of the box, plug in a power cord to the power adapter, plug the cord into the device, and then plug in the now connected cord and device into an outlet. It is super easy. Anyway, I decided to do my arm pit first. Everything was clean, dry, and freshly shaven. It lit up all the way to the top of the sensor because my skin is pretty light. Once it lights up, you push the button for it to go. It is fool proof. You aren't supposed to look at the light really, so I looked away. I wasn't expecting it would hurt because in watching other reviews they weren't acting like it would. Well, it kind of hurt. It felt like someone pinched me. Not super pleasant, but I guess "no pain, no gain". I tried it on my husband and he said it didn't hurt, but his skin is a little darker than mine, so it doesn't use as much power for darker skin.
I decided to give it another try on my lower leg. It hurt again. I tried the feather setting, which is a button you can push right below the activate button, to have it be more gentle. It turns a light on and then you can push the activate button as usual. It was more gentle. I don't know if it will be as effective, but it feels at least a little more pleasant. I hope either I will get used to it at the regular setting, or the feather setting will continue to work for me, so I am grateful for this setting being available.
Overall, it was super easy to take out of the package, connect the 2 cords, plug into an outlet (so you don't have to worry about running out of batter power), and push the button to use.

Gillette Venus Silk-expert

I am experienced in all methods of hair removal: waxing, threading, tweezing, epilator, professional laser treatments, shaving and now IPL.
Though some are painless, some can be downright torture (laser on bikini area, epilator anywhere!) This machine is relatively pain free on my legs. Some might feel a slight burn, but I think it depends on their level of experience with other methods. I am sure other areas, like underarms, or bikini line will be more sensitive. If this really does produce lasting results, it is definitely worth the price because it is so easy to use and does not hurt. I have used Tria in the past and this is far better because the treatment window is much larger, making it easer to cover more area faster. My skin is fair with dark hair so I am an ideal candidate for this product. I have seen my hair regrowth is thinner and more sparse. So far this gets my 5 stars for being easy, painless, and it works!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only used the product a few times now, but it seems to be working. I've done my legs and underarm and have noticed that the size of the hair seems to be finer than it was previously. It doesn't hurt, but does feel very warm when the laser beam flashes. It's a bit hard to get enough contact around the ankle and behind the knee to get it to fire. The cord is long enough to reach well, but does get in the way a bit. I'll be able to provide more recommendation after I try it for a longer period of time.

No longer an IPL skeptic!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to try the Venus Silk Expert. I had researched intense pulsed light technology for hair removal before, but I was always too skeptical to commit to anything. I'm fair skinned with dark, dark hair, which should make me a prime candidate for the Venus Silk Expert. Be sure to check if your coloring will work; not everyone is a good match for this method. While the directions and cautions for use seemed daunting at first, the actual use was very simple. As soon as I learned a few basic steps, it was a quick and easy process that was easier each time. I was also really anxious about the potential pain, but it wan't bad at all. The very first time felt like a quick pinch, but I quickly began not feeling it at all. Now for results. I started treatment around my ankles knowing it's not terribly sensitive there but is an area I have to shave frequently (hello ankle pants!). Over a few weeks the hair growth did seem to slow. It's not gone, but what's there is more sparse. It's easy to see the change right next to the area above it! I was nervous to try this on my armpits at first because it's such a sensitive area, but that's definitely where I'm headed next now that I'm comfortable with the process and know what to expect. The only obvious downside of the Venus Silk Expert for me is that you have to be free of hair in the area you use it. So you're still putting the time in to shave beforehand, but the goal is to shave less in the future! It could also be a time consuming process if you try to cover large or multiple areas all at once, but I plan to tackle small areas at a time and I think it's perfect for that. I'm excited to continue seeing the long term benefits and habe already recommended to some friends and family!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When first trying the Silk-expert it stung quite a bit, so I turned it to the "Gentle" setting. I found that if I lifted it off the skin immediately after the "pulse" it minimized the sting and then I was able to use it on the normal setting. I would recommend anyone trying it for the first time to start on the Gentle setting and be very cautious if you are trying it on the bikini area. I'd recommend starting on the legs and get used to it first before trying any "delicate" areas. Also, the directions said Do Not Use on the face, which was a little disappointing because I wanted to use on my upper lip.
It was easy to use for the most part. There were some spots that were difficult to get the device properly positioned, like around the ankles and knees, but after some practice I got the hang of it. It is too early to tell if it is doing anything yet but I am hopeful.

Easy to use, pain-free, and effective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little apprehensive about using Venus Silk-expert because I've used some similar tools in the past that were painful and not worth it. I have to say I am impressed with Venus Silk-expert . I had absolutely no pain or discomfort at all throughout the process. It's easy to use. The light during use is very bright, so be sure not to look at it or you might see stars! The tool is effective at thinning and slowing hair growth with recommended usage.
