3 weeks in and...smoother skin?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've given myself 3 treatments so far, one each week as suggested by the directions. So far, I haven't noticed a difference in the coarseness or thickness of the hair growing back, however it does kind of seem to be growing back more slowly.
An unexpected bonus for me is that the skin on my legs feels much softer. We are still dealing with very cool temperatures where I live, which causes us to run the furnace, which makes our home very dry. Anything that can help make my skin softer and less flaky is a welcome plus!
I am getting better at using the IPL, it doesn't take me nearly as long as it did the first week. I still have to turn the head of the unit sideways and go up my shin that way, but it doesn't seem to cause any issues. The slight sting doesn't bother me any more on my legs, although the more sensitive skin on my underarms and bikini area is a different story.
I haven't had any issues with redness or soreness at all. It certainly is less annoying than shaving!
All of that, and it looks elegant, too! Thanks Braun, I'm really liking this free gift!

First Impressions: Gillette Venus Silk Expert

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Gillette Venus Silk Expert free from Braun and was happy to see a quick video guide prior to receiving it. The product came attractively packaged and was easy to open. I was expecting a huge manual but instructions were super easy to follow. I was setup and ready to go in minutes.
I started on my lower leg and would compare the sensation to being snapped with a little rubber band. Just a quick warm sting when the red light flashes and it was gone. It went quickly and the product was much quieter than I expected! The led lights made it simple to know when it was ready to go and in proper position.

Great Start to Hopefully no more hairy legs!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to admit, I was very tentative to try this product, I received it as a test product as part of bzzagent. I always like to read other people's reviews before trying something that may or may not be dangerous. When I read through the instructions my mind was put to ease, they laid out all risks, side effects and benefits before you read the part on how to use. They instructions covered so much how could I not be. I did wait a few weeks after receiving as it is still summer and I knew I would be going into the sun. I didn't want to cover up my legs because I had just treated them, so I waited until I saw that the weather would be average for a few days in a row. I shaved my legs as instructed before I did my test try. I plugged in my Venus Silk Expert device and saw the bars, heard the fan and tried my first patch. Two flashes later and my test was done, it was very quick. Set up of the device was very simple, just plug it in and wait a few seconds. They were right though, do not look at the device the light is very bright. I reread the side effects and didn't feel any of them. No pain or discomfort(although I have to say I have a very high tolerance to pain), warm feeling in the treatment area, I didn't itch and I looked for swelling and redness throughout my 24 hours and nothing. My skin didn't change color either. The test was a success. The next evening I tried treating both my legs. I felt a little more of the warm feeling but still no pain or discomfort. Even so the warm feeling did not last too long. When I tried the test I used the precision mode, when I tired my whole leg I tried the glide mode. The glide mode was easier to use as I feel I covered my legs better than trying to pick it up and chose the very next spot. I was afraid that I would lose contact on both sides of the device over certain contours of my leg but it covered just fine even in tight areas behind my knee. Over all I am interested to see how it will turn o I did mark my calendar to do the next treatment in one week. The hair on my legs is course and dark so will be hopeful that it will at least reduce my leg hair.

Venus Silk Expert is awesome!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have upgraded the Venus Silk to 5 stars after using it for four weeks. I have been working on both legs and have seen great results so far. I would estimate about a 50% reduction of hair to this point. I have fair skin and very dark hair. I've had laser hair removal in the past by a professional on other areas. I have seen more drastic results faster with the professional, but it is very costly and a lot more painful for me. I am still very pleased with the very little to no pain I experience when using Venus Silk. The larger surface of the tip and the cord are great features along with the glide mode. I would highly recommend Venus Silk.

First try of the Venus Silk-expert!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited to receive the Gillete Venus Silk-expert from Braun. It was packaged nicely and I couldn't wait to open it up and try it. There were lots of directions which were sort of intimidating at first. But to actually set it up and begin using it was very simple and quick. I used it on legs and it barely had any discomfort - like a tiny rubber band sting; waxing hurts way more! It was sort of hard for me to keep track of which areas were already treated but going over some areas twice did not hurt or burn. I also did my armpits and it was a little more painful there. I have sensitive skin and I did not get red or have any reaction after using the Silk-expert. The most exciting part for me was even though it says it will take several weeks and treatments to see results, after just one use my hair took a lot longer to grow back. I normally need to shave every day or every other day but it has been 6 days and I barely need to shave again today. I can't wait to see how the results continue in the next few weeks.

Painlessly Simple

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Prior to getting my Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert powered by Braun® IPL device, I researched additional information on laser hair removal and IPL hair removal. I also read several reviews of this device from various sites. I have to be honest that some reviews and information actually had me a little scared that using the device would be tricky and painful. Many said IPL can feel like being snapped with a rubber band - ouch. I even waited until a weekend to try it out for the first time just in case it was hard to use or produced pain or burning on my skin.
Before my first use, I easily set up the unit (basically just plugging it in) and showered and shaved with a razor before testing it on a small patch of skin. I used the sensitive mode button because I feared it might burn or hurt, but there was no pain at all! I easily used the device on my legs, underarms, and bikini line and all the areas took less than 15-20 minutes total.
A week later I tried my Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert powered by Braun® for a second time, this time at full power. Again, no pain at all. The only thing I felt was an occasional warm feeling from the device getting a little hot. I have dark hair and very pale skin, so most of the flashes generated were with all the lights illuminated on the side. If it were going to hurt, it should have been felt this time but wasn't.
Both times I've used my Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert powered by Braun® I have worn a cheap pair of sunglasses as a little eye protection, but really I just closed my eyes or looked away when pressing the treatment button. Very simple! My husband has even tried this on a small area of his lower back and has had no complaints. I can't wait to keep using it for several weeks to see how it does with reduced hair growth. I'm thankful to have a chance to try the Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert powered by Braun® for free in exchange for my product review.

Innovative Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upon receiving this item and reading the instructions, I was a little scared to try it. I was afraid that it would hurt as so many other hair removal products do (that aren't razors or the like). I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it and it was just a hot feeling on the treatment area. I have been using the product as described, once a week for just over 4 weeks on my legs. I have noticed a slight reduction in hair growth. I am excited to keep going to see if there are more results. I would also like to try other areas like my underarms. I will report back on the progress.

Easy Peasy

This was an easy tool to set up and use. The new Gillette Venus Silk-expert powered by Braun was ready to use after attaching a two cords and I was off. The fact that it can sense my skin tone and adjust the heat to the right temp was impressive. It was not too hot and the instructions were simple. Make sure you shave and you are off to the races. Simply depress the button and let the tool do the rest. I am excited to see results in the upcoming weeks.
