Painlessly Simple

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Prior to getting my Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert powered by Braun® IPL device, I researched additional information on laser hair removal and IPL hair removal. I also read several reviews of this device from various sites. I have to be honest that some reviews and information actually had me a little scared that using the device would be tricky and painful. Many said IPL can feel like being snapped with a rubber band - ouch. I even waited until a weekend to try it out for the first time just in case it was hard to use or produced pain or burning on my skin.
Before my first use, I easily set up the unit (basically just plugging it in) and showered and shaved with a razor before testing it on a small patch of skin. I used the sensitive mode button because I feared it might burn or hurt, but there was no pain at all! I easily used the device on my legs, underarms, and bikini line and all the areas took less than 15-20 minutes total.
A week later I tried my Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert powered by Braun® for a second time, this time at full power. Again, no pain at all. The only thing I felt was an occasional warm feeling from the device getting a little hot. I have dark hair and very pale skin, so most of the flashes generated were with all the lights illuminated on the side. If it were going to hurt, it should have been felt this time but wasn't.
Both times I've used my Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert powered by Braun® I have worn a cheap pair of sunglasses as a little eye protection, but really I just closed my eyes or looked away when pressing the treatment button. Very simple! My husband has even tried this on a small area of his lower back and has had no complaints. I can't wait to keep using it for several weeks to see how it does with reduced hair growth. I'm thankful to have a chance to try the Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert powered by Braun® for free in exchange for my product review.

Innovative Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upon receiving this item and reading the instructions, I was a little scared to try it. I was afraid that it would hurt as so many other hair removal products do (that aren't razors or the like). I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it and it was just a hot feeling on the treatment area. I have been using the product as described, once a week for just over 4 weeks on my legs. I have noticed a slight reduction in hair growth. I am excited to keep going to see if there are more results. I would also like to try other areas like my underarms. I will report back on the progress.

Easy Peasy

This was an easy tool to set up and use. The new Gillette Venus Silk-expert powered by Braun was ready to use after attaching a two cords and I was off. The fact that it can sense my skin tone and adjust the heat to the right temp was impressive. It was not too hot and the instructions were simple. Make sure you shave and you are off to the races. Simply depress the button and let the tool do the rest. I am excited to see results in the upcoming weeks.

Initial set-up and test area

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The instructions and precautions included with the device are easy to understand. I had no trouble setting myself up to do my first session. I chose to start with one inconspicuous area on my leg as a test spot. I prepped the area as directed and used the device as stated. The sensation was a bit uncomfortable, but nothing that would prevent me from using it over a larger area or for repeated applications.
I've read some very interesting information about this type of light therapy and am excited to see the results. I will give the test area a day or so to see how it responds (i.e., no irritation--it takes several applications over time to see results) and then will begin an area for hair-removal in earnest and will report back on the results with before-and-after photos. I have fair skin and dark hair, which I think is an ideal combination for effectiveness.

So far, so good!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tried it for the first time last night on my test area, which for me was under my arm. Not sure what it was going to all involve, but I followed the directions in the brochure. It was really straight forward. The only thing I wasn't sure if at first is if it "fired". Wish there was a little beep or sound recognition when this happened. But other than that, a ever so slight little ache in the treatment area, but no other signs of side effects. Going to do the whole area tonight. Looking forward to less hair.

Easy to use, no bad reaction

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have only been using this product for 3 weeks so it is too soon to see any results, however it is easy to use and I have not had any adverse reactions, even though I typically have very sensitive skin. I am testing on underarm hair and plan to try my legs soon as well.

Before using this product, I was a little apprehensive. I didn't know how it would feel once I placed it onto my skin, even after reading some reviews stating it did not hurt. The first time I used it, I decided to try it on my arms. I made the mistake of having a little stubble on my arms, which made the product uncomfortable to use. The second time, I made sure I shaved right before using the product. The second time was. Or uncomfortable. It felt a little warm but did not cause any pain. After using this product only three times, I can already see the hair on my legs growing less in some spots and not growing at all in other spots. I think with a couple more uses of this product, I will almost be able to kiss my razor goodbye. :)

Great so far!

I have used it once a week for four weeks and so far I have seen a significant decrease in the amount of hair regrowth. I see a bigger difference each week, so I am sure it will continue to be better each week.
