My first time!

I have never used a hair removal system before and it was pretty scary at first . I used the Gillette Venus silk expert by Braun and the first time was really easy! The handheld machine is big enough that it does not take too long but small enough to use in sensitive areas. It took about 20 minutes to do both of my legs and I did have my husband help with some hard-to-reach areas. The red light that flashes takes a bit to get used to and the machine is warm after a while. There is a slight pinch that happens when using the hair removal system but the Gillette Venus silk expert has three settings: normal, gentle, and extra gentle. I did have to use the extra gentle setting but I do not have a high pain tolerance. I was able to use the gentle setting on my under arms. I have only used the device one time and I look forward to doing the treatment again next week. After the first treatment there doesn't seem to be any results but none were expected as it takes many treatments before you see results. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a hair removal laser system.

Well the skeptic fell in love!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I was given the opportunity to try out the Gillette Venus Silk- expert by Braun for free, I was a big time skeptic, but also super excited because the concept seemed really cool. I got my package from Braun, and opened it right up. It came with the Silk expert device, and also a face cleansing rotating brush (Beauty edition box). The products are sleek, and well packaged. I read over the instructions throughly, and at first was a bit overwhelmed, however once I used the product that quickly went away, it really is simple to set up and use. There ar some definite pros and cons, but if you have ever considered professional hair removal I suspect the pros will outweigh the cons. So first of all let me just say, YES this product works! I honestly waited to use it a few times before I posted my review for the simple fact I was so skeptical about that. Then one day after a week of craziness I made a comment about needing to shave my legs, and realized after touching them... They did not really need to be shaved! I was shocked, and my husband was also pleasantly surprised as well. So that is the best Pro obviously! It is also very easy to use, literally unbox, and plug in. Now one of the cons, the product does take planning to use, because you have to start with freshly shaven areas (I tested it on my legs first), and when doing large areas like the legs it does take a bit of time ( it took me 15-20 minutes to do both legs). I started seeing results after 3 treatments, but it suggest you use it weekly for 12 weeks. Honestly had I not started seeing results, I would have been discouraged and maybe not have done it for the full 12 weeks. Also you have to be careful with skin tones, and tattoos. If you have lots of tattoos this product is not for you, also dark skin tones are not able to use this product. That to me are also cons. I do have a tattoo on my leg, and avoided the area. Another con is, you are not supposed to look at the device while the light is activating/flashing, however that is difficult to do. I would maybe recommend they include some glasses to protect the eyes instead. Overall I'm satisfied with this product, and would recommend it to people who are interested in it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Venus Silk Expert from Braun as a free sample to try and give my honest opinion. Now I have previously paid ALOT of $$$ for laser hair removal, then I had my son and found out that when you’re pregnant the hair can grow back due to hormones. So when I had the chance to try this product, I jumped on it! When you first start using this product, you use it once a week for 12weeks, and then adjust your usage afterwards depending on your needs. I absolutely loved how even after one use my hair growth was noticeably different again. This product was merely a tingle to me, and not painful (much less painful then laser hair removal in the salon), and seemed to work even better to me. My only issue is time. You are told to use this fresh out of the shower (after shaving & once you pat-dry your skin). With my shower schedule, I did not plan very well to leave me enough time to shave and use the Venus Silk Expert from Braun before I had to get ready and leave the house every week. Even though I wasn’t able to use the product weekly, I still feel like it does a fantastic job when used every other week or so. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that is interested, you just have to be willing to commit the time for the best results.

Great on the legs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Venus Silk-expert worked great on my legs. I used this and now I do not have to shave. My legs are smooth and soft after six weeks of treatment. I also used this on my bikini area and underarms several times. I did not like the product for this usage. It was painful and felt as if I was being burned. I followed the directions as stated saw no results. I would not recommend this for use on the bikini area and underarms. I did not try this on my face because I was afraid it would give the burning sensation that felt on my bikini and underarm area. I would definitely recommend this for legs, stay away from the bikini and underarm area though.

venus silk expert... Removes hair from wooly woman

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I must admit that my least favorite job in the world is shaving my legs!!! I have always been prone to razor burns and I have very thick coarse, dark hair on my legs. That's why I was very excited to try the Gillette Venus Silk Expert that I received free from Braum for my honest opinion. There are two ways to use gliding mode and precision mode. The gliding mode is good for large areas and precision mode is best for smaller areas. It is very easy to use. For gliding you just press a button and slowing move it up. It is also dummy proof... It will not flash unless it is against the skin properly and the skin color is appropriate. The precision mode allows you to put it in one place and push the button. I found the precision mode easier on the lower parts of my leg..especially up my shins and around ankle area. The gliding mode worked great for my upper leg. I did not experience any pain, redness or discomfort. I did smell a slight smell of burning hair. I am very excited about this product and can't wait to share the results with you in a few weeks!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this product is very easy to use. It's quick and doesn't hurt much. Sometimes it will feel like you got snapped with a rubber band, but it's nothing too bad. I have been using this product weekly on one leg (to compare it to the other leg) and my armpits. I have noticed that the hair is growing in patches where I've used this product. Which means that it must be working and if I continue to use it, eventually all of the hair will be gone!! I'm very excited for the final results and will definitely recommend this product to my friends and family.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently received my Gillette Venus Silk-expert powered by Braun for free in exchange for my honest review. What is that, you may ask? It is a hair removal system that uses Intense Pulsed Light for permanent hair reduction. I used it for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised how incredibly easy and virtually painless it was to use.
I started by shaving the areas that I was going to be treating. I treated my legs, underarms, & bikini area. It was very easy to operate. You just hold down a button & move up the intended areas. It was a little tricky around the knees and top of feet, so I used the precision mode on those areas. I also, did feel a "zing" in a few times while using. I had read the instructions carefully, and I believe the "zing" feeling was from hairs that I had missed while shaving.
This a 12 week treatment program and it states that you should see a reduction in hair growth around the 6 week mark. I have dark black hairs in the areas I am treating, and I am super excited to see the outcome from using this remarkable system.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, so good! I was super pumped when the Gillette- Venus silk expert came in the mail free from Braun. It was packaged nicely and aesthetically pleasing.
It was super easy to plug in, and the use is very intuitive. You definitely could figure out how to use it without reading the instructions, but since it involved electricity and my body parts I thought it was best to read the instructions.
At first I used it on gentle mode, but it really didn't hurt at all do I switched to regular mode quickly. In sensitive areas such as bikini lines, under arms and knees it was slightly painful, but nothing that scared me away. It felt like a sting or a shock, very short lived.
The downside is the time it took! To remove my hair, pat dry and then use the Silk Expert on my full legs, bikini line and underarms took 1-1.5 hours! The silk expert takes some time, even in gliding mode and my thumb began to hurt from holding down the button. The device got a little hot, but not concerningly hot, and I had little trouble reaching the "hard to reach spots".
It was hard to keep track of which areas of my legs I had done, for instance around my thighs, when there's no clear lines to follow.
2 days later and there's not real after-math, my legs are itchy the same way they would be after shaving.
I am looking forward to continuing to use it. If spending 1 hour a week for the next 12 weeks means I have significantly less hair then it will be well worth my time!
