Easy and pain free

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Gillette Venus Silk Expert comes in very nice packaging. The silk expert looks pleasing in its packaging and the packaging is easy to open. The instructions are thorough but understandable.
I chose to follow their recommendation and tested the areas I intend to treat, which includes my underarms and bikini line. You just plug the silk expert in and you are ready to go. I treated a small portion of both areas and have experience no adverse side effects. I felt warmth but no pain. If the regular mode is uncomfortable, you can easily switch to gentle mode. Twenty-four hours later I have not noticed any issues. I look forward to continuing the treatment and seeing a reduction of hair!
It's worth noting that the instructions state that this product is not designed for very dark skin tone and may not work as well if your hair is white, grey, blonde, or red.
This package also came with a face cleaning brush. The brush already has a battery installed. I have used the face cleaning brush several times and really like it. You just wet your face and brush and then use the brush in gentle circular motions for about one minute. You can use whatever cleanser you wish. My face feels softer and cleaner after using it.

So Easy To Use!

The new Gillette Venus Silk-expert by Braun is so easy to use. After receiving it this week, I tried it out on my legs this evening. The total process took me around thirty minutes. First, I had to shave my legs to remove all hairs. Next, all you do is plug it up and it automatically turns on and is ready to use immediately. I love that it provides 2 modes of use: gliding and precision. It was so easy to hold down the button and just glide over my legs while the light flashed on and off. The precision mode only flashes once, not continuously. I used this mode for hard to get spots like my knees and ankles.
I did not feel any discomfort while using the product. There was occasionally times that I could feel a small zap when I had not gotten all hairs while shaving. I could feel the zap, but it was not uncomfortable.
I am excited to keep using this product weekly and see what kind of results it will produce for me. This is something that I can use on the weekends that will not take up much time at all!

I think a bit of planning has to go into the use of this product. First, you have to have the right skin tone and hair color. I tested the product on a couple areas as suggested, I had no side effects. The product is easy to use. However, I think the process is time consuming to complete. I treated my upper thigh and bikini area with no issues or pain during use. It says not to expose your skin to the sun after use. I live in FL so that is hard ( why i chose concealed spots to try out first). The flash of light is bright and warm.. but not uncomfortable. Crossing my fingers that I see results!

Easy and virtually pain free

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the Gillette Venus Silk Expert powered by Braun for several weeks now and I'm happy to say it is super easy to use and very comfortable. The device itself looks very attractive and high quality. It also came with a bonus of a facial brush. It is easy to hold and has a little weight to it and it's super comfortable to handle and easy to use. The assembly is very simple and the use instructions were clear and straightforward. Basically, you plug it in and you are ready to go. It is recommended that you start with a test patch area the first time you use the device. After cleansing the area and then shaving it and patting it dry, you activate the device and placed it on your skin. There is a quick bright pulse of light and a snapping noise and then it is done. I recommend that you don't look at the flash of light which is very bright and hurts your eyes if you look at it flashing. You might smell a slight burning smell if you miss a little bit of hair when shaving but it isn't too strong or bad. In terms of comfort, there is a minimal amount of heat that you feel from the device and a slight snap or pinch but these are far more tolerable than the pain felt from waxing or cutting yourself from shaving. I really like the fact that the device has a built in skin tone analyzer to prevent any misuse. I wish the device had an on/off switch and don't like that you have to unplug the device in order to turn it off. I have noticed that the process can be a bit time consuming because you have to use the device weekly which is more often than when I wax but it is also far less painful and I have definitely noticed a reduction in hair growth. When hair does grow, it is finer and easier to remove. Overall, I am very impressed with this device and happy to continue using it.

Great tool for easier shaving

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to Braun for their generosity in providing free Gillette® Venus® Silk-experts in exchange for honest reviews! After almost two months of weekly use I can say that the Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert is a useful tool for anyone with major (coarse) leg hair issues - or eevn sensitive skin when shaved. With coarse and dark hair, I have had nightmare experiences to try and achieve easy and pain free shaving to the point that legs are smooth and nice looking. This Silk-expert definitely helps in reducing the amount of coarse regrowth so that subsequent shavings are easier and more comfortable. It does not remove hair entirely, but will drastically reduce the amount of regrowth in a few weeks of regular use. The handpiece is relatively ergonomic and the pain level is acceptable. What is not so great is the fact that it does not move well across natural nooks and crannies such as ankle bones etc, but the process is manageable nonetheless with little noise and little major difficulty otherwise. The retail price is exorbitant and I am not sure that it is commensurate with its output, but the benefits are there and that's worth tons to some. I would recommend to those with a similar need to mine. If you have very light (soft) hair growth to begin with, this just might be a miracle fix...but this is impossible to say as everyone's response is bound to be different.

My first time!

I have never used a hair removal system before and it was pretty scary at first . I used the Gillette Venus silk expert by Braun and the first time was really easy! The handheld machine is big enough that it does not take too long but small enough to use in sensitive areas. It took about 20 minutes to do both of my legs and I did have my husband help with some hard-to-reach areas. The red light that flashes takes a bit to get used to and the machine is warm after a while. There is a slight pinch that happens when using the hair removal system but the Gillette Venus silk expert has three settings: normal, gentle, and extra gentle. I did have to use the extra gentle setting but I do not have a high pain tolerance. I was able to use the gentle setting on my under arms. I have only used the device one time and I look forward to doing the treatment again next week. After the first treatment there doesn't seem to be any results but none were expected as it takes many treatments before you see results. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a hair removal laser system.

Well the skeptic fell in love!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I was given the opportunity to try out the Gillette Venus Silk- expert by Braun for free, I was a big time skeptic, but also super excited because the concept seemed really cool. I got my package from Braun, and opened it right up. It came with the Silk expert device, and also a face cleansing rotating brush (Beauty edition box). The products are sleek, and well packaged. I read over the instructions throughly, and at first was a bit overwhelmed, however once I used the product that quickly went away, it really is simple to set up and use. There ar some definite pros and cons, but if you have ever considered professional hair removal I suspect the pros will outweigh the cons. So first of all let me just say, YES this product works! I honestly waited to use it a few times before I posted my review for the simple fact I was so skeptical about that. Then one day after a week of craziness I made a comment about needing to shave my legs, and realized after touching them... They did not really need to be shaved! I was shocked, and my husband was also pleasantly surprised as well. So that is the best Pro obviously! It is also very easy to use, literally unbox, and plug in. Now one of the cons, the product does take planning to use, because you have to start with freshly shaven areas (I tested it on my legs first), and when doing large areas like the legs it does take a bit of time ( it took me 15-20 minutes to do both legs). I started seeing results after 3 treatments, but it suggest you use it weekly for 12 weeks. Honestly had I not started seeing results, I would have been discouraged and maybe not have done it for the full 12 weeks. Also you have to be careful with skin tones, and tattoos. If you have lots of tattoos this product is not for you, also dark skin tones are not able to use this product. That to me are also cons. I do have a tattoo on my leg, and avoided the area. Another con is, you are not supposed to look at the device while the light is activating/flashing, however that is difficult to do. I would maybe recommend they include some glasses to protect the eyes instead. Overall I'm satisfied with this product, and would recommend it to people who are interested in it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Venus Silk Expert from Braun as a free sample to try and give my honest opinion. Now I have previously paid ALOT of $$$ for laser hair removal, then I had my son and found out that when you’re pregnant the hair can grow back due to hormones. So when I had the chance to try this product, I jumped on it! When you first start using this product, you use it once a week for 12weeks, and then adjust your usage afterwards depending on your needs. I absolutely loved how even after one use my hair growth was noticeably different again. This product was merely a tingle to me, and not painful (much less painful then laser hair removal in the salon), and seemed to work even better to me. My only issue is time. You are told to use this fresh out of the shower (after shaving & once you pat-dry your skin). With my shower schedule, I did not plan very well to leave me enough time to shave and use the Venus Silk Expert from Braun before I had to get ready and leave the house every week. Even though I wasn’t able to use the product weekly, I still feel like it does a fantastic job when used every other week or so. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that is interested, you just have to be willing to commit the time for the best results.
