The Silk-Expert really works!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a bit skeptical about a light being able to minimize my hair growth. I was even more skeptical about using something that would torch my eyes if I looked into it. I was so anxious about using the product that I would close my eyes every time I had to hit the button to zap my hair with the light. It is very time intensive to zap both legs. And I would have to turn the machine to be parallel with the bone so that the machine would register that it was covering sufficient surface area. With the machine turned like I would use a razor, the lights would not light up and not register enough skin and surface area for a proper zap. It is also important to wait a few days between uses. I tried to do it twice in one week, about 4 days apart and it hurt a bit the second time. Waiting 6 days seemed like the right amount of time with no added pain. After four weeks of use, I am happy to say that the hairs on my legs are less. The only drawback is that I have a couple spots around my knees that are full of ingrown hairs so I might have to use some chemical pads to get those up. And I read that the cartridges have a zap life, so this little gadget won't last forever!

Simple and Easy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far I've only used this once, but it was very easy to use. I read the directions and started using it. I put it on gentle mode at first just to see what it would feel like, but switched it back to normal because there was almost no pain. Even on normal mode there was only a slight discomfort that lasted maybe 45 seconds. I can't wait to see how much it reduces my hair. I received this free to try for an honest review from Braun.

Nervous but excited

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am excited to have received the Gillette Venus silk expert free from Braun, and I just tried it for the first time this evening. After reading the manual, I was ready to give it a go. I have fair skin and dark hair so I am optimistic that this product will work well for me. On my first attempt, it was very easy to use, but I was surprised how much pain I felt in certain areas. My underarms were the worst. Since I'm very fair skinned the light was at almost the highest intensity. After a few light bursts, I had to switch over to the gentle mode. Perhaps I will become less sensitive with continued use. I don't have previous experience with IPL treatments so I am definitely willing to keep using weekly and see how my body responds. Stay tuned!

Not bad for hair removal!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to get the chance to try the Venus Silk-Expert. Heck, even my husband was excited for me! lolI am very fair complected, with dark hair, the idea user.
I followed the directions the night I received it, plugged it in, and started at it. Um, ouch. Not horrible, but not entirely pain-free as well. Like mini rubber band snaps in areas (specifically behind my knees and around the ankles).
I have used it 5 times so far, over 5 weeks. While I can't scream from the rooftops (yet) that my legs are now hair free, it does seem that hair growth has slowed enough where I don't need to shave every day.
For that alone it deserves 4 stars from me.

Quick and Easy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used the Venus IPL device for approximately 7 weeks. It is remarkably quick and easy to use. I have never in my life stuck to any type of beauty regimen for 7 weeks - this is a first for me! But with only two seconds needed for each light burst, this product makes fast work of your hair.
I believe the manual says you need to use the product for 12 weeks to achieve full results? I have used it less than that, but have already seen a reduction in hair growth. I would say that certain areas have responded slightly better to the treatment than others, but that may just be due to the hair growth cycles they are on - I am optimistic that I will largely eliminate hair growth in the treated areas in a few more weeks.
If you are considering IPL at a doctor's office, I highly recommend giving this a try first - you just might save yourself a lot of time and money!

Braun's Silk Expert is Awesome!

I've only started my second week of treating my arm and legs with this product, but I'm already super excited to see the results in 10 more weeks. I'm only using the product on one arm so that I can take side by side pictures of the results as I go.
I really love this item and think it will give me good results in the end.
Also, I've done professional laser treatment in the past, so this is totally up my alley.
The Silk Expert doesn't hurt like professional laser hair removal methods that I have tried in the past. Which is great! Also, its a lot cheaper to do this home treatment, than to go in to an office for an appointment. Thanks for letting me be a part of this! <3
