Works GREAT!

I've had mine for over a year, and for most areas of my body (legs, armpits, and bikini) it started working in one session. I had to shave less often and the hair was noticeably thinner. My husband is a dermatologist, and I've had actual laser hair removal treatments in the office. This hurts WAY less and is just as effective. The best part is you can use it in your own home and not make an office appt/pay out of pocket.

PL 5137 vs. PL 5157 - The Difference is in the Bag

I had to call a Braun representative to determine what the difference was between the products. They look to have the same items included in the purchase but have a price difference of $30 USD. It turns out the difference is the bag. The bag for the PL5137 is supposed to have the golden rainbow effect where the PL5157 is just a leather-type solid grey bag. I purchased the PL5137; I didn't need the leather bag and I liked the look of the golden rainbow. Turns out I got the grey back. I double checked that I ordered and paid for the PL5137, so I'm not sure what's going on. Braun, please clear up your product details for each PL above because it's confusing to the consumer on what exactly is being purchased compared to what they receive. As a side note, I'm still using the item, so I'll leave a review at a later date on that. I have fair skin and dark hair, but I don't have any high expectations. It's not the product, I just know that because of my coloring I may not get the results I hope for.

I bought this 1 year ago and have been using it ever since and it sucks I followed all the instructions and my hair still grows the same. it was waste of money.

Beats laser removal prices!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Braun Silk Expert Pro 5 PL5137 IPL is very easy to use and just requires being plugged into an outlet. It works as it says, helping defeat hair at the follicle with light treatment. I have been using it on my legs for several weeks now and have noticed that their is less hair than when I started. The downsides of this product are that you have to continue treating once a week for about 2-3 months to truly see the full results and that it only works with certain color hair/skin tones, as the light is not able to pick up everything (though I'd hope they are continuing to work on models where this won't be a problem anymore). There are still rogue hairs that the light can't reach around the knee/bend area, as it's hard to maneuver the light to get all of these areas. If you have sensitive skin, the light can also get a little warm and irritate you. I have also used this on my husband's back with great results. Very happy with this product overall!

I have had this product for over a year and it’s amazing. I had done salon laser treatments on small areas but wanted to do my legs as well as touch up areas that had grown back without worrying about appointments and cost. This machine was been amazing. I am fair and had dark coarse hair. Before this i would shave and start to see hair the next day on my legs. I now have probably about 80% of my hair completely gone and the bit that does grow back grows much slower, thinner and lighter. Was recently on a beach trip for 5 days and only shaved one time for minimal hair that no one would notice but myself. Very effective and convenient. Other than the initial few months i have been very inconsistent with using maybe once every two months so I’m sure if i was more consistent i would have closer to 100% hair gone

Works well, but device only lasted 10 months

Have had great results when I used this product. However, I purchased it in October of 2020, and it is now August of 2021 and the device stopped working. It was used intermittently- it’s not like it’s been used weekly or even monthly during that time frame. For the price, it should last longer. How do I get support for the product?
