set up was great...

the set up was great along with the transfer of data from my old PC, however it's crashed 2 times in the first 24 hours of doing spreadsheet work! (Its why I got rid of my old one) nothing to find on the web, trying to update all the drivers - hard to troubleshoot.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Super light, but inconvenient to use(software).

By the way, there are small software problems. From the first time I bought it, it keeps lagging when I open and close the folders, and move files in the folders. I still haven't found the reason. The graphics often looked broken when I used PowerPoint. I solved the problem after updating the graphic card driver, but how to update the graphic card was also complicated and not easy. And there are still many small errors, such as the security function key not working. It is difficult to solve problems for me because there isn't much helpful information online. But still, I strongly recommend this product. The battery lasts long, too. The bezel is thin, too. And I don't want to use another laptop after using this laptop because it's light. And I usually make a big scratch or damage to other products in 3~6 months. but this product is not damaged at all over a year. maybe it has strong than others..?

Amazingly light; matte screen; strange battery

This really is an amazingly light 17" laptop. And the performance is very good, with very good keyboard layout and feel. Easy to work with for extended periods of time.
I would much prefer to have had the opportunity to buy this unit with a matte screen, which was not available when I made my purchase. My screen is just too reflective. I have to manage around that—which can be done—but it would go from 4 to 5 stars if it had one.
The battery is a curious thing. I found that it drains amazingly fast when NOT in use. I have documented average power loss of 25% per week, checked over a period of months. I thought this so unusual I returned the computer twice for a battery replacement thinking the battery just had to be bad.
LG customer service supposedly replaced the battery each time (without question, which I think shows good intent), but the issue remains.
No other laptop I have ever owned has exhibited this behavior and tech support had no explanation for it. But it's real and apparently baked in.

Same issue as last year's model

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is great to find a manufacturer that makes a light 17" laptop. I just wish they had 2 models - one with the current keyboard and one with a full sized keyboard without the dedicated 10key numeric input.
I have to warn my customers about the small keyboard and that they'll frequently have a hard time hitting the home keys due to the numeric keypad. Most of my customers are willing to give up a good keyboard for the rest of this laptop but some can't get used to it and end up getting a 15" laptop with a full keyboard. It is a shame that they make 3 nearly identical 17" laptops but can't make just 1 more with a decent keyboard.

A 17 Inch laptop not for Creativity/productivity!

The only reason anyone buys a 17 inch screen is for productivity/Creativity work. The old Gram 17 slotted perfectly for those who want this size but not interested in the weight or heavy gaming. Gram 17 was the only game in town. But this redesign is baffling, no expandable ram? no option to go beyond 16GB!!. That makes this a ultra portable light laptop for office work and video watching? why would anyone buy a 17" for that when you have a 15/16inch!.
This redesign is a mistake that puts this GRAM 17 no mans land of utility.

NO audio
