[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the laptop primarily for software development. I'm currently using a dock which connects to 2 external monitors. However I didnt want anything too heavy as I would be commuting - once this pandemic is over. Build quality is very good, the hinge seems strong. With cheaper laptops, I find that the screen vibrates if there is movement of any kind.
Performs fine for what im using it for. I use an external keyboard with most activities, but the keyboard is the best I've used on a laptop.
You buy this laptop for mobilty and I plan to take this to the cottage/camping. This laptop looks great both on and off.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am an Apple user for the longest time but decided to shift to Windows for school and work. I first tested the X1 Yoga Gen 5 but not very happy with it as battery with 4K lasts only 4hrs on me. 2-in-1 is a good option for business but I find too heavy. So, I decided to try this Carbon Gen 9 and I cannot be happier! Just what exactly I was looking for. Sleek, professional looking, fast, light and most important of all long battery life without sacrificing the brightness. Only cons is the price. Yes it is pricey but you get what you paid for!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Boy is this machine fast. It boots almost instantly, uses facial recognition for login and overall just works. The battery read out seems a little off. It soon drops from 100% to 5 hours left but as you continue using the computer, the number climbs back up. I've gone nine hours with lots of battery left. This is going to be great for when I'm on the road. The computer is light, the power cord and transformer is compact and I ike the fact that on battery you have two USB C - Thunderbird ports at your disposal.
The X1 is very light, and quiet. It doesn't overheat at the bottom. Face recognition technology is faulty, it only works 70 % of the time. In general I am very please with the performance. The only aspect that I would improve is in the video card. 4K movies show lagging
