First call with customer service was great, however, the person never put through the request for a new replacement as promised. I followed up and had to speak with 3 different people after first being told my computer was no longer available for the refund and I had to purchase a new one. I usually rave about my Lenovo products and my experience with them. My recent experience certainly put a bad taste in my mouth.

I've been exclusively using their laptops for 10 years and have been happy enough with them to keep buying them. I'm typing this review on a 5 year old T460 which I enjoy using more than my new X1. At 5 years old it still has battery life that is equal to or better than the X1. Lenovo has seriously lost their way. They used to make uglier, chunkier and heavier laptops that were a joy to use and slightly less convenient to transport. Now I have a flimsy, lightweight machine with no memory card reader, no ethernet port, no removable battery. I was offered other models as a replacement for a defective T490s but the alternatives all had even poorer battery life ratings. Eventually my T460 will die and then I will reluctantly start using the X1. Or maybe I will give it away and look at other brands...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9 laptop, Lenovo strikes a homerun. Ubuntu install was a breeze, the performance is incredible, the fan is super quiet, the display is crisp and clear, the trackpad is amazing! I highly recommend it.
