[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: Light, sturdy, powerful, great keyboard and good battery life. I purchased it with another OS pre-installed; I took an image of the disk and wiped it to install Linux instead, everything works wonderfully, including the IR camera and the fingerprint reader.
I just took my X1 Carbon on a trip and was able to perform all work tasks remotely without worrying about running out of battery, and it is so light that I almost forget I am carrying it with me.
The unit I purchased has a touch display and I was afraid it would be glossy, but the anti-glare (=matte) surface works well and you couldn't tell the difference from a non-touch screen.
Cons: - no Ethernet port - I miss having an SD card reader, it was a bit awkward to transfer photos via wi-fi from my camera For these two point I will have to carry either corresponding USB dongles or a small dock
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was an upgrade to my older (Gen 5?) ThinkPad X1 Carbon. Same solid design, great keyboard feel and much faster performance.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A1 laptop. The control key and function key should be swapped but there is an easy feature to do so in the bios.
